Marc knew he was getting way more involved than he should be—client confidentiality and all—but he had to call Scott. It wasn't fair, the pressure on Delilah. She looked like she was ready to implode. What it was doing to her and Andi wasn't okay. Scott agreed to his plan. He just hoped it was the right one.
Marc pulled into an underground parking stall and shut off the car but didn't move. He finally turned to Andi. "I don't know the whys, but the man you are about to meet is extremely ill. If you hurt him, you'll have me to deal with."
Her frown and look of hurt almost had him apologizing, but then that would have been a lie. He meant it. Scott meant the world to him and he would not let anyone hurt him. Not even his daughter.
