Chapter Six: What are you doing here?

"You?" They both asked at the same time.

"You... As my personal assistant" Xander said sarcastically eyes wide and in shock. "Never"

Estella was dumbfounded to see the same man she slapped standing in this office as the CEO whom she was supposed to be working under. 'Hell no' she thought to herself. There was no way she was going to be working under such an arrogant man. Never!!!

"Listen here Mr, I have no interest in working for you. If I had known you were the CEO, I would have never accepted the job offer".

Xander look at her and said "Xander Gallgher"

"What" Estella asked confused at his words.

"My name is Xander Gallgher and there's no way I'm going to allow you to work under me!"

"And I'll make sure you don't get a job anywhere else. I promise you that"

"Listen here Mr Gallgher" Estella started "My name is Estella Jenner and I don't need to get a job here or anywhere else for that matter. So your threats do not scare me at all"

'Jenner' Xander thought to himself. He had heard that name before. But where?

He suddenly remembered where he had heard that name. The Jenners' were the owner of the leading cosmetics company in the country. 'So she must be the daughters of the owners' he mused to himself. 'But why would the daughter of such a famous and successful company be looking for a job?' He asked himself.

"I'm done here" Estella said interrupting Xander's thoughts and with that, Estella dropped the files her mother had asked her to submit on Xander's desk and then proceeded to leave Xander's office.

Xander was furious. He couldn't believe what his grandfather and Andrew did. He would make sure to teach Andrew a lesson. Andrew and his grandfather had done many annoying things in the past, but this had to be the most outrageous thing they had done. He sat down on his chair and dialed Kenzie on the intercom

"Yes sir, how may I assist you?" She answered.

"Is Andrew in his office?" Asked Xander

"Yes sir. He's in there with your grandfather". She replied

"Grandfather? When did he come?"

"A few minutes ago sir" answered Kenzie.

"Alright Kenzie". Xander knew his grandfather had come to see how things were going for him and new personal assistant as he grandfather hardly came to the office ever since he handed over to Andrew and himself. He stood up and went our of his office to meet Andrew and his grandfather.

"Has she arrived yet" asked Senior Xander as he entered into Andrew's office.

"Not yet grandpa but I'm scared of what Xander might do to us;correction of what Xander might do to me". Andrew knew Xander. He would definitely take out all his anger at him and not at his grandfather who hired Estella.

"What if he refuses to work with her grandfather". Andrew asked

"He has no choice. He might be the CEO but I'm still the boss and my decision is final and even Xander will accept it whether he like it or not". Senior Xander uttered confidently.

'He has to work with her'. Senior Xander thought inwardly 'otherwise, he will never be able to come out of the shell he has trapped himself in'

"What the hell is going on Grandpa?!" Xander yelled as soon as he was inside Andrew's office.

"What are you talking about Xander?" Senior Xander causally asked he glanced as Xander.

"You know what I'm talking about Grandpa" Xander looked at Andrew, fury plastered over his face. "Why did you hire Estella to be my personal assistant?

What's going on in your mind Grandpa?"

Senior Xander just smiled at the questions and didn't respond.

Getting no response from his grandfather made him even more angry as he continued "She's the heir of Jenner cosmetics company isn't she? So how did she end up as my personal assistant? Looking at her, it shows she has never had to work a day in her life so how would she be able to assist me?!" Xander asked angrily.

Senior Xander smiled again seeing the fuming Xander yelling angrily in front of him.

"And how do you know that's she is not going to make a great assistant? I mean you thought she wouldn't be able to afford your car and look she turned out to be the heir of the most successful company in the country" Senior Xander innocently said reading Xander.

Andrew laughed at what Senior Xander said. Xander shifted his gaze from his grandfather to Andrew and glared at him in disbelief.

Xander put his hands on his hips and asked "if she is the heir of such a successful company, may i know why she needs a job as my assistant when she should be managing her father's company? Would you care to explain Grandfather?

"Estella's mother wants her to learn how the business world works.She also wants Estella to become an independent woman" Senior Xander revealed. "Don't worry, it is not going to be forever just for a year. He added.

"Okay? What does that have to do with me? Why is she working here? And what makes you think she would be able to handle being my personal assistant? Xander asked.

"I hired her because I think you'd be the perfect person to show Estella how the business world works. Senior Xander answered Xander junior. 'She is going to also be my granddaughter in law'. He said inwardly.

"But Grandpa, I don't want her to work for me"

"You have no choice Xander as I am still the boss. She is going to be working for you and that's final" Senior Xander said in a tone that signaled the end of the discussion.

"Where's Estella?" Asked Senior Xander.

"She just left" Xander smirked "Looks like she won't be my personal assistant after all"

"Xander Gallgher, if you want to see another day as the CEO of my company, then you better get Estella back. Senior Xander said anger evident in his tone.

"But Grandfather... "

"You have half an hour to get her back. I'll be on my way" said Senior Xander.

Xander gritted and left Andrew's office.

As Estella left Xander's office, she went to the elevator and headed for the ground floor. She wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.

"Who would work for someone like him" she scoffed but then her mother's word hit her and she remembered why she had to take this job. If she failed, her mother wouldn't trust her to manage the company.

's**t' she mused. She had no choice but to work for that monster which meant she would have to put up with him. This was going to be hard but she had to do it. Therefore, with dropped shoulders, Estella pushed the elevator button back to the twentieth floor.

Xander walked back to his office after his conversation with his grandfather. His grandfather was unbelievable. 'I have to do this for grandfather which means I'll have to put up with the spoilt brat' he muttered to himself.

As soon as he entered his office, his eyes widened as he saw Estella standing in his office with a smile on her face. 'What's up with her?" He asked himself.

Estella greeted him cheerfully and said "Your Secretary dropped these files for you" she said as the pointed to some files on his desk.

"What are you doing here" asked Xander confused.

"I'm your personal assistant, it's my duty to be here sir".

"What the hell?! He exclaimed. "First you say you don't have any interest in being my personal assistant and now you're in my office taking care of my documents. Are you insane miss Estella". Xander was confused as to why Estella was back in his office but then he remembered what his grandfather said and then he smiled internally. He had finally figured a way to get back at her. He would make her time here miserable and she wouldn't be able to quit. 'Perfect' he mused.

Estella still smiling said "You're right sir I must have been insane to have to spoken to you like that sir. I know I lack experience and I still have a lot to learn but I promise I will do my best to be a great assistant to you".

"What did you say? " Xander asked in a calm voice but Estella could sense that this man was not as calm as his voice was.

"Well, I said I will do my best as your assistant sir" Estella answered.

Xander started to work close to Estella and Estella moved back trying to get away from Xander.

Seeing how she was getting uncomfortable by him getting close to her, Xander teased her by asking "What happened to Estella Jenner? Where's your attitude now?"

"W-Well s-sir" Estella stuttered and bit her lips nervously and stopped stepping back when her back hit the wall and Xander was standing closely in front of her. "Sir your documents Estella said trying to divert his attention from her..

"What about them?" Xander asked in a tone that sent chills down Estella's spine.

"Well sir, they need to be attended to"

"So, now you're okay with being this arrogant man's assistant?" Xander asked in the same tone while staring intently at Estella.

"Of course sir, I already signed the contract and me quitting the job would be a breach of contract" Estella said. She tried not to look at Xander, but the man was right in front of her and her racing heart made it difficult for Estella to think straight.

Xander looked deeply into Estella's eyes 'Those eyes' Xander thought to himself 'They look familiar'

Estella on the other hand couldn't think properly. She noticed Xander's features and how handsome he was.'Wow he's really handsome but why do I feel like I know him from somewhere' she asked herself.

She started to regain her senses and whispered "Sir"

Xander's eyes fell to her lips and a mischievous thought to kiss her crossed his mind. She smelt really good. He had this weird urge to kiss her. He felt like he knew her from somewhere "But where?".

Xander realized what he was doing and how close he was to her. He quickly composed himself and stepped back.

"Alright then, you're hired as my personal assistant Miss Estella". He pointed his finger at the files on his desk and signaled Estella to pick them up.

"Take these files and go through them. I want a full report on all of them by the end of the day and if you are unable to do so, then you're going to be fired". Estella sighed. She knew he was trying to make her life miserable but she could not afford to lose this job.

"Kenzie will show you to your desk. Now leave" Xander commanded.

Estella looked at the files and walked towards the door. She was still feeling weird from getting close to Xander and she wanted to leave from there as she was feeling suffocated.

As she left, Xander heaved a sigh of relief. He was shocked at how getting close to Estella had an effect on him.

He couldn't afford to get close to any woman. "No!!!" He exclaimed. "I need to keep my distance from her". He rubbed his temples and said " I have to find Fionna".
