EPISODE 1: "HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS "
Emmy Carter hadn't planned on returning to her hometown for Christmas Not after five years of city life, deadlines, and trying to forget the past. But when her younger brother called with urgent news about their mother's preparations, she had no choice.
Pulling her coat tighter around her, Emmy stepped off the train on to the familiar platform. The cold air nipped her chicks , and the faint scent of pine and snow instantly transported her back to memories she thought she'd buried. Streetlamps glowed warmly along the cobblestone streets , dusted with fresh snow and laughter echoed from the holiday market in the town square.
Emmy's thoughts , however were elsewhere Leo Oakley .
She had hoped to avoid him entirely. Afterall the last time they'd seen each other , highschool had ended badly-words left unsaid, hearts misunderstood , and a goodbye that had never felt final.Yet as if fate had its own plans a familiar voice cut through the crisp winter air.
"Emmy"?
She froze. slowly , she turned and there he was. Leo, with the same mischievous grin she remembered , his scarf wrapped carelessly around his neck, hands shoved in his coat pockets. He looked....happy. And impossibly warm.
Emmy's heart skipped. The years melted away in an instant. All the pain, the distance , the heartbreak-they were still there, yes, but so was the spark she'd tried so hard to ignore .
"Leo," she said softly , her voice betraying a hint of surprise.
"Wow," he breathed, stepping closer. "You're... really here."
For a long moment neither spoke. The snow fell gently around them, dusting their shoulders, as if the world had posed just to witness their reunion.
"I didn't think I'd see you again this Christmas," Emmy finally admitted.
"Me neither," Leo said, his grin softening into something warmer, more sincere. "Guess somethings are meant to be ."
And just like that Emmy realized coming home might not just be about family, snow , or holiday cheer-it might also be the start of something she hadn't dared hoped for again.
