Chapter Nineteen When Scarlett opened her bedroom door in the morning, having fallen back into a fitful sleep until after nine, she dressed in blue jeans and a toffee-colored tank top with a light dressy sweater overtop. She had applied only a light coating of makeup, and she slipped on her open-toe sandals as she stepped out, then stopped midway to the kitchen, seeing her mom, Ivy, Mason, and Naomi sitting in the living room, watching her. “Good morning,” she said as she stumbled a second. “Good morning, Scarlett.
