Aria Vale had once believed in fairy tales. On the night of her eighteenth birthday, she stood beneath the silver glow of the full moon with her pack surrounding her, waiting for the Moon Goddess to bless her with a mate. Her heart raced when her gaze collided with the Alpha’s, Lucien Blackwood, powerful, golden eyed, the one wolf every girl dreamed of. The bond snapped into place like destiny itself.

But instead of acceptance, she heard the one word that would haunt her forever.

Rejected.

The rejection shattered more than her pride. It crippled her wolf, left her body scarred with a faint crescent mark on her wrist, and turned her into the pack’s whispered cautionary tale. She ran from Silverfang, vowing never to let another man, another Alpha, hold her fate in his hands again.

Three years later, the world sees a different Aria. She is no longer the trembling girl who begged for love, she is the polished Vale heiress, granddaughter of Richard Vale, unveiled in emerald silk and diamonds at the Grand Imperial Hotel. Cameras flash, businessmen bow, and even the city’s elite whisper her name with respect. She is beauty, power, and steel in equal measure.

But beneath the flawless surface, her wolf still howls, and the scar still burns whenever Lucien Blackwood is near.

Lucien never expected to see her again. Not like this. Not radiant and untouchable, no longer the girl he rejected but a woman who carries herself like a queen. The bond he thought he severed roars back to life, and for the first time, the Alpha who rejected Aria fears he may lose her forever.

Yet destiny is not done with them.

A rival Alpha, Nikolai Drax, steps out of the shadows, wielding a rune-etched blade and a prophecy as old as the packs themselves. He whispers that Aria’s bloodline is the key to power, that her scar is not a wound but a seal, and that Lucien Blackwood lied about why he broke her heart. Caught between two enemies, one who rejected her and one who would use her, Aria finds herself spiraling back into the supernatural world she tried to escape.

Every encounter burns hotter. Every touch of Lucien’s hand makes the mark on her wrist flare until it feels like fire beneath her skin. Every glance from Nikolai reminds her that secrets have costs, and that betrayal may not always come from where she expects. The girl who once ran is gone. In her place stands a woman who must decide whether to embrace the destiny written in her blood or defy it, even if it means tearing the bond apart piece by piece.

The city’s glittering halls and the pack’s moonlit courtyards become the stage of her awakening. She is both Vale heiress and fated mate, both human ambition and wolf instinct. If Lucien wants a second chance, he will have to fight not just Nikolai but Aria herself, for she will not kneel, not to a rival Alpha, and not even to the one destiny chose for her.

But when the prophecy ignites and blood is spilled in the stone chamber where runes blaze and shadows close in, Aria learns the most terrifying truth of all:

Her choice will not only decide who she loves.

It will decide whether their world is saved or destroyed.

The Billionaire Alpha’s Betrayal is a slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance full of betrayal, hidden identities, and dangerous secrets. Expect rejection under the moonlight, a heroine who claws her way from weakness to strength, an Alpha whose power is matched only by his regret, and a rival who will stop at nothing to twist destiny. Every chapter ends on a knife edge cliffhanger, every glance between Aria and Lucien sparks fire, and every word Nikolai speaks drips with poison.

For readers who crave heat, heartbreak, and hope tangled together, this is not just a story of love, it is a war between past and future, truth and lies, betrayal and redemption. Aria Vale thought her scars defined her. She was wrong. They are only the beginning.

Chapter 10. Blood and Prophecy
Darkness clung to Aria Vale like chains. The last thing she remembered was the surge of pain from the bond, the glowing scar on her wrist burning until her vision faded. When her eyes fluttered open again, she was lying on the cold stone floor of a cavernous chamber. Torches burned along the walls, casting jagged shadows that danced across the ceiling. Her head throbbed, her body weak. She struggled to push herself upright, her gown torn and dusted with ash. A low growl echoed from the shadows, and her heart stilled. Nikolai Drax stepped forward, his gray eyes gleaming like steel. “You fainted again,” he said smoothly, his voice echoing. “The bond tears at you. He does this to you, Aria. Lucien Blackwood.” Aria’s chest rose sharply, her lips trembling. “Where is he?” Nikolai’s mouth curved. “Closer than you think. He never learns to stay away.” As if summoned, a thunderous crash shook the chamber. The stone doors exploded inward, and Lucien Blackwood stormed inside, his golden eyes blazing with rage. His aura filled the space like wildfire, his wolf howling, demanding, unrelenting. “Nikolai!” Lucien roared, his voice reverberating through the chamber. “You will not keep her.” Aria’s heart jolted at the sight of him. bloodied, furious, magnificent. Relief and dread twisted inside her chest. Nikolai chuckled darkly. “You fight like a man desperate, Blackwood. Do you wonder why? Do you know what your bond hides?” Lucien’s teeth bared, his fists clenching. “I know enough. And I know she is mine.” Aria’s pulse hammered. The bond flared violently, the tether pulling her toward Lucien even as her mind resisted. She stumbled to her feet, her vision wavering. The two Alphas clashed. Power rippled through the chamber as Lucien lunged, his fists slamming into Nikolai’s chest. Nikolai retaliated with feral speed, his strength nearly equal. Stone cracked beneath their strikes, the air thick with growls and snarls. Aria pressed against the wall, her body trembling as the fight raged before her. She wanted to scream, to stop them, but her voice caught in her throat. Then, in a blur of motion, Nikolai drew a blade. Its edge glimmered faintly with runes, old magic carved into steel. He slashed downward, the blade grazing Lucien’s side. Blood spilled scarlet, staining his shirt. “Lucien!” Aria cried, rushing forward instinctively. Lucien staggered but did not fall. His golden eyes burned hotter, his wolf snarling in fury. He lunged again, catching Nikolai off guard, slamming him against the stone wall. The blade clattered to the ground. Nikolai sneered, his voice a hiss. “You fight for her, yet you never told her the truth. Tell her, Blackwood. Tell her why you really rejected her.” Aria froze, her breath sharp. “What truth?” Lucien’s jaw clenched, his chest heaving. “Not now.” Nikolai’s laughter rang out, bitter and sharp. “Coward. If she knew, she would despise you even more.” Aria’s knees weakened, her mind spinning. “What are you hiding from me, Lucien?” Before either could answer, Nikolai drove his knee into Lucien’s side, breaking free. He lunged for the blade again. But Aria moved without thinking. She grabbed the weapon. The steel burned her palm, but she lifted it anyway, pointing it at Nikolai. Her emerald eyes blazed. “Stay away from me.” For the first time, Nikolai faltered. His gray eyes narrowed, assessing, then curved with amusement. “Perhaps the prophecy is true after all.” Her heart pounded. “What prophecy?” Before he could reply, Lucien surged forward. He knocked Nikolai back with a final blow that sent the rival Alpha crashing into the wall. Nikolai collapsed, unconscious, blood streaking his face. Silence fell, broken only by Aria’s ragged breaths. She turned slowly. Lucien stood a few feet away, his chest heaving, blood dripping from his side. His golden eyes locked on her, filled with raw desperation. The blade slipped from her hand. She rushed to him, catching his arm as his legs buckled. “You’re hurt.” His voice was hoarse. “Not as badly as I would be without you.” They sank to the ground together, his weight heavy against her. Blood smeared across her gown, his wound deep. Aria pressed her hand against it, tears burning her eyes. “Why do you always do this?” she whispered, her voice breaking. “Why do you keep breaking me, and yet I can’t let you go?” Lucien’s golden eyes softened. His hand, trembling, cupped her cheek. “Because the Goddess bound us. Because no matter how much I fight it, I am yours. And you are mine.” Her wrist burned again, the scar glowing. Their blood mingled on her skin. his dripping wound, her cut palm from the blade. Where the two touched, light flared. Aria gasped. Symbols appeared faintly in the glow, ancient runes neither of them understood. The light spread between them, sinking into their skin, binding them tighter than the bond ever had before. Lucien’s breath hitched. “The prophecy…” Aria’s chest heaved. “What prophecy?” His gaze held hers, raw, torn. “That our bond is more than fated. That it carries the power to destroy. or to save. And if you reject it again, Aria… it could tear both our worlds apart.” Her vision blurred, her wolf howling inside her. The bond burned hotter, undeniable, terrifying. She pulled her hand back sharply, her body trembling. “No. I won’t be your chain. I won’t be your destiny.” But even as she said it, the glowing runes faded into her skin, permanent, unyielding. And deep inside, Aria Vale realized one truth with horrifying clarity. She could not run forever.
