Jack dropped Rose off at Lily’s house. As Rose stepped out of the car, her heart was still racing with the memories of the night.
Lily was waiting for her and asked immediately, "So, tell me, how was it? What happened?"
Rose couldn't find the right words. She felt so shy and happy that she just walked into her room and fell onto her bed, hugging her pillow. She felt like she was on cloud nine, replaying every moment of the trip in her head.
Lily followed her into the room and saw the look on Rose's face. She didn't need to ask anymore; she knew exactly what happened. She smiled gently and sat on the bed.
"I don't even need to ask," Lily said. "Your smile says it all."
Rose looked up at Lily, her eyes shining with pure happiness. She couldn't stop smiling, and Lily was truly happy for her friend. She could see that Rose had found the love and peace she had been looking for.
The next day, Rose arrived at the university still glowing with the memories of the night before. At the gate, she ran into Will. Lily had already told him everything, and Will couldn't resist teasing her.
"Wow, Rose! You look so happy today. I heard the trip was very 'special'," Will said with a wink.
Rose blushed deeply. "Will, you know?"
Lily couldn't keep it a secret," Will laughed, teasing her more about her new love.
Rose shyly walked into the classroom, eager to see Jack. But as she looked at his seat, her heart sank—it was empty. She waited, thinking he might be late, but the class began and he still hadn't arrived. Even his best friend, Harry, was missing.
Throughout the day, Rose felt lost. She checked the canteen, and their favorite garden spot, but Jack was nowhere to be found. A sense of worry began to grow inside her. Why wasn't he here? Was he okay? Did something happen?
As the university day ended, Rose felt a heavy sadness. The place felt empty without him. She kept searching for him, hoping to find any sign of him, but the silence was all she got. Her happiness from the night before was now clouded with concern for the person who had just become the most important part of her life.
Back at home, Rose was overwhelmed with worry. "Lily, Jack didn't come today," she said, her voice shaking. "Did I do something wrong? Did he feel uncomfortable after last night?"
"Rose, stop overthinking," Lily said firmly. "Why don't you try to reach him?"
"I don't have his number!" Rose cried.
Try i********:," Lily suggested. Rose quickly opened her phone and sent him a follow request. She spent the entire night watching her screen, hoping for a notification. Every time the phone lit up, her heart skipped a beat, but it was never him. She couldn't sleep a wink, filled with anxiety and fear that she might have lost him.
The next morning at the university, Rose was exhausted. She entered the class, and her eyes immediately scanned for Jack. The seat was empty. Even Harry was missing.
Rose felt like crying. Her heart felt heavy, and she could barely breathe. The other students were staring at her, noticing how distressed she looked. Lily tried to comfort her, whispering, "Rose, please, pull yourself together. People are watching. There must be a logical reason for his absence, maybe a family emergency. Don't break down here."
But Rose couldn't help it. The man who had held her in his arms just two nights ago had vanished without a trace, and the silence was breaking her heart.
On the way home from university, Rose and Lily went to the restaurant where Jack worked. The manager told them that Jack hadn't shown up for two days. Rose was heartbroken. That night, she kept checking i********:, but there was no response. Feeling completely hopeless, she put her phone away and spent a sleepless, miserable night.
The next morning, Rose felt empty as she walked into the university with Lily. But suddenly, she stopped. Standing in the garden was Jack!
Rose ran toward him and hugged him tightly, refusing to let go. She started crying, "Jack, please don't leave me! Never leave me again."
"Rose? What’s wrong?" Jack asked, confused but gentle.
"Why didn't you come? I had no way to contact you, no address, nothing! I was so worried!" she sobbed.
Jack wiped her tears away. "Rose, I’m so sorry. I had a very high fever. For the last two days, I was barely conscious. I didn't even know what was happening around me. Harry was taking care of me, so I couldn't reach out to anyone."
Hearing this, Rose felt a wave of relief, but she was still deeply worried about his health.
How are you now, Jack?" Rose asked, looking at him with concern.
"I am perfectly fine now," Jack replied with a gentle smile.
"I was so scared," Rose confessed.
"Scared of what?" Jack asked.
Rose looked down shyly, "I thought you had left me forever. I thought you wanted to get away from me."
Jack reached out, cupping her face in his hands. He looked into her eyes and said, "Rose, I could never leave you like that. You mean the world to me."
Rose felt relieved and happy. "Let’s go to a nice park," Jack suggested. "We can eat something and talk peacefully."
Just then, Harry called out from behind, "Where are you going, Jack?"
"I’ll be back by evening," Jack shouted back with a smile. "You go home, Harry."
Rose and Jack walked away from the university together, enjoying each other's company. Harry stood there, watching them leave, his expression thoughtful as he watched his best friend walk away with the girl he had fallen for.
They arrived at the park and sat for a while, but soon Rose’s eyes landed on the swings where children were playing happily. She turned to Jack with a playful, childish sparkle in her eyes.
"Jack, I want to sit on that swing! Please, will you push me?" she asked.
"Sure, go ahead," Jack said with a smile.
Rose sat on the swing, looking absolutely adorable. Jack stood behind her and began to push the swing gently. Every time the swing went up, Rose laughed with pure joy, her hair flowing in the breeze. She looked so beautiful and innocent that Jack couldn't take his eyes off her.
He kept pushing the swing, but his focus was entirely on her. It felt like time had stopped. The noise of the park faded away, and all that mattered in that moment was the way Rose was smiling. For Jack, that was the most perfect, romantic moment he could have ever asked for.
The swing kept going back and forth, and Rose was loving every moment of it. This time, when the swing came back, Jack didn't push it. Instead, he leaned down and kissed Rose gently on her forehead. Rose closed her eyes, feeling his warmth, and her heart began to race. Jack gave the swing a soft push, and she moved forward.
A few moments later, as the swing came back again, Jack reached out and firmly held the ropes, bringing the swing to a complete stop. Rose looked up, surprised and curious. She found Jack leaning over her, his face inches away from hers.
The air felt heavy with emotion. Jack leaned in closer and gently pressed his lips against hers. It was a deep, intense kiss that took Rose's breath away. Instinctively, she reached up and cupped Jack's face with both her hands, pulling him closer. In that quiet corner of the park, they were completely lost in each other, sharing a moment of pure love that felt like it would last forever.
After the long, deep kiss, Jack slowly pulled away to look into Rose’s eyes. He took her hand and gently pulled her off the swing. Then, Jack sat down on the swing himself and pulled Rose onto his lap. It was a very intimate and sweet moment. He wrapped one arm firmly around her waist, and with the other hand, he gently caressed her neck, tangling his fingers in her hair.
Rose felt safe and completely loved. She reached up and held Jack’s face with both of her hands. Jack leaned in and kissed her again, but this time, it was even deeper and more passionate.
Rose closed her eyes, completely lost in his embrace. She could feel his heartbeat, and he could feel hers. In that quiet park, nothing else in the world mattered to them. Jack held her close, as if he never wanted to let her go. They were so close that they felt like one soul, completely wrapped up in the magic of their love.
