"Your Majesty, how could you do this to me?" Trish came to Rion. He opened the door to his room and asked a question that made Rion confused.
"I thought we'd been very close, but how dare Your Majesty do this to me," Trish said again, which made Rion look at him strangely.
"What do you mean?"
"I was told by Knight Erina that you came to see Her Highness, Queen Cristela, then you said that you wanted to marry Odette. Is that true, Your Majesty?"
"That's right," answered Rion, flatly.
"Your Majesty, that breaks my heart."
"..."
Trish saw Rion staring at him with a strange look mixed with disgust.
Trish laughed. "Hahaha, I was just joking, Your Majesty. I'm glad to hear about that. This way the gossip about the two of us having a romantic relationship and having s****l perversions will come to an end. But to be honest, I'm a little disappointed that the maids found out about this important matter before I did," he said.
"Are you finished?"
"Huh?" Trish was silent for three seconds, then spoke again when Rion was about to leave. "Wait, Your Majesty."
"Is there still something unimportant you want to say?"
"I think it's important because it concerns Odette."
After he heard this, Rion, who seemed disinterested in listening to Trish, suddenly became very interested. He was curious about what his right hand had to say.
"Did you know that Odette is sick and is currently undergoing treatment at the medical center?" Trish asked, much to Rion's surprise.
"She's sick? Is it really that bad? And..." Rion furrowed his brows. "How did you know that she is sick and being treated at the medical center?"
Trish was silent for a moment when he saw the look in Rion's eyes. The way his king was looking at him right now seemed that he was suspicious of something.
"Please don't misunderstand, Your Majesty. I was frantically looking for you and Princess Anwen. I was worried after Arlo told me about Your Majesty suddenly speeding up the horse, and the princess chasing you," he explained.
"Because I didn't know where to find you, I went to the Lilium Residence. I thought that maybe Your Majesty and the princess would be there." Trish added as he remembered the thing that happened when he came to Lilium Residence.
Trish told Rion that he met Odette there. She looked like she had just finished crying. Trish asked if Odette was okay, and Odette nodded. Just as Trish was about to ask if the king and princess were there, Odette suddenly fell unconscious.
Trish knew that Odette had a high fever, so he immediately rushed her to the medical center.
"I don't know what happened, but she looked really sad. I've already told Princess Anwen this, and she's there now to accompany Odette," Trish explained at length.
Rion was silent for a while, before he finally said, "Oh."
He left Trish in the room with a few question marks on his head.
Why was the king so indifferent? Trish could see that Rion was worried when he heard Odette was sick, but why was he hiding his feelings?
Trish also faintly saw the sadness on the king's face. The knight suddenly sensed the awkwardness behind the king's statement that he wanted to marry Odette.
He then remembered Odette's face which looked very sad.
What was really going on?
The king suddenly wanted to marry Odette, but she didn't seem happy at all. The king and Odette both seemed to be holding back sadness.
Had something happened between them? Trish wondered in his mind. He was curious, but he also knew that he shouldn't interfere as it was a personal matter.
Meanwhile, in the room, Rion had just removed his wig. He then remembered Rose when he opened the wardrobe that contained Rose's clothes. Every time he opened the wardrobe, he could smell Rose's scent, which made his longings a little curable or maybe… the other way around. The scent made him miss Rose even more.
When he missed Rose so much, he would be in that room, being a half-mad man. He would hug and kiss Rose's clothes. He would talk to them as if they were Rose, like right now.
He took Rose's favorite red dress and sat on a chair with the dress on his lap. He embraced the dress while imagining that he was currently holding Rose, hugging her, which he often did when Rose was alive.
He closed his eyes as he inhaled the scent of the dress and let it seep into his head.
"Rose..." He opened his eyes and looked at Rose's dress sadly. "I… will remarry. But this isn't like our marriage. Something happened, and I… I didn't do it on purpose. I wanted to marry her because I feel I have to take responsibility for her."
His voice was hoarse when he spoke.
"She will be the new Queen of Panthera, but don't worry, you will always be the queen of my world, my heart. No one will replace you. I hope you understand my current situation, and please don't be angry," he said as he kissed the red dress.
Rion felt like he was in a dilemma. He felt that he had to account for what one of his personalities did to Odette by marrying that woman so that people wouldn't insult her. However, when he thought about marriage, he thought of Rose and felt like he had betrayed Rose's love.

The next day, the news of the king's upcoming wedding shocked the palace. The people were happy to hear the news that the king finally wanted to remarry.
"Finally, the king is willing to end his widower status. After a long winter, finally, a spring named Odette came into the king's life. I'm very excited!"
"Well, you're right. When I heard the king tell Her Majesty directly that he wanted to get married, for some reason, I felt like flying, as if I were to be his bride-to-be."
"It's a shame I didn't hear it in person, but it's okay I still feel happy. I swear I will try my best and do my best to help prepare for this wedding!"
From a distance away, two old maids were watching the three young maids there. They looked very enthusiastic to help prepare for the king's wedding. They smiled happily at the happy news.
The old ladies were Mrs. Amy– and Mrs. Marta, they both served as maids of the palace.
"The girls look very happy," said Amy.
"Don't you feel the same?" Marta smiled at Amy who had been her co-worker for decades. They had worked in the palace before Rion was even born.
"And you too." Amy turned and smiled back at her friend. They then looked back at the young maids in front of them.
"I don't understand why the king's wedding makes us feel so happy and so excited like this. I didn't even feel this happy when my son got married," said Marta.
