Rion Keeps Changing His Mind

"Okay." Rion agreed with Odette's decision without saying 'this is an order' or giving a nonchalant attitude like he usually did. If he gave up like that, Odette would feel sorry for him.

"I… I'll help you, without getting married," said Odette. Rion told her it wasn't necessary. He told Odette not to think about it anymore. It immediately made Odette feel guilty for rejecting him.

Meanwhile, Rion agreed to Odette's decision just like that, because he was reconsidering. His initial plan was to marry Odette, so that Odette could handle Lucifer while he was training to use mana again. However, he soon felt that the idea was very dangerous for Odette.

Then, if he let Odette help him without getting married, it would be detrimental to Odette. People would gossip about his relationship with Odette, and most likely the girl would be called a seductress, or the king's kept woman. All because she was always around him.

The gossip of the palace and the noble ladies were terrible. There were a few cases of women committing suicide because they always became the subject of gossip. They had become the object of reproach by noblewomen.

He still remembered the girl's words. Odette said that she didn't like being the subject of gossip because of the bitter memories that existed in the past.

So, it's better if the marriage plan was canceled.

"Why did you give up so quickly? If you coaxed me, I might change my mind," Odette suddenly said.

As he heard Odette's words, Rion raised his eyebrow. "You want me to coax you?"

Odette was silent. She was a little embarrassed by her own words.

Rion looked at Odette intensely. Persuade? When was the last time he did that? When Rose was alive, she was the only person he had ever coaxed. So far, he preferred to command and punish people who did not want to obey his orders or be indifferent to people who refused his wishes.

"You've made the right decision. It's too dangerous." Rion said flatly.

"You don't have to worry about Lucifer, I'm sure I can handle it. I told you he was just a wounded man. I can help you without getting married."

"If you want to be called a seductress, a king's mistress or a w***e, then don't get married."

Odette was stunned when Rion said the word 'p********e' as she remembered her mother, who was called a w***e by people because she had a child outside of wedlock just because she couldn't present a husband as Odette's father. It made her chest feel tight.

"Even if we tell everyone that you're Doctor Alex's assistant, it won't stop the people from gossiping when they're always seeing you with me. I'm sure you've heard people gossiping about you going in and out of my room."

Rion looked at his palm then added. "I want to break this seal, and practice using mana again. As long as I have you by my side at all times, to keep an eye on Lucifer, but I don't think that plan is a good one so just ignore it."

He then got up from his seat. Odette then asked him where he was going.

"To order food. You just wait here," Rion said as he walked out, then disappeared behind the door quickly.

After Rion left, Odette thought about every word he said. The man needed her help, but being worried about her, he changed his mind quickly. It was just like before, when Rion asked Odette to be his personal doctor. At that time, Rion felt the need for help, but then when Lucifer injured Odette, he finally told Odette to leave.

The poor man needed help, and Odette wanted to help him, but did they have to get married? She felt that she couldn't do it. She knew that she liked Rion, but she hadn't thought about marriage at all.

Even if they had to get married at this time, she would happily accept the marriage, but it wouldn't be the kind of marriage she had hoped for.

Besides, what if she married Rion, and then she got stuck in a marriage that only involved one-sided love? What if Rion would never love her, and still couldn't forget about Rose?

Could love come when you get used to it? Maybe one day, because they were always together, Rion would love her too. If that happened, it would mean she would stay in this era forever.

Meanwhile, Rion became the center of attention of the employees who were there. He also caught the attention of the guests who were busy chatting as he passed by them. They started whispering to each other. Many of them could recognize him as the king, or at least thought they knew him. This really annoyed Rion.

"Master Renald." Jacob approached from behind. "Do you need anything? What can I do for you?" he asked.

'There's no mistaking it, he really is a king,' He muttered in his mind when he came face to face with Rion.

"I want to order food and drinks. I want the food delivered to my room," Rion said flatly.

"We have many options on the menu, Sir. Which one would you like?"

"Whatever you think is the best," said Rion, then walked back to his room. His steps suddenly stopped when someone called him and approached him from the direction of three o'clock.

"Your Majesty!"

A beautiful blue-haired man, wearing a thick fur coat, stylish and patterned like a tiger, came to him with an excited expression. That man with a striking appearance was Levin Jerry, one of the tycoons in the Panthera Kingdom. He took everyone by surprise when he greeted the gray-haired man. Rion stood after he called him 'Your Majesty.'

"Yes—Your Majesty, he said."

Everyone looked at each other in disbelief.

"I didn't expect to see you here, Your Majesty," said Levin Jerry when he had faced Rion.

"You got the wrong person," Rion said flatly.

"Hahaha, Your Majesty is joking, how can I⁠—" Levin Jerry halted his words when Rion looked at him very sharply and seemed to say 'shut up!'

This confused Levin, but then he understood when Rion glanced at the group of people watching them. Levin then saw the appearance of the king. He finally realized the king seemed to be undercover.

"Ah, I'm sorry, it looks like I've got the wrong person," he said and smiled sweetly. Levin closed his eyes and smiled. He muttered in his mind, 'Oh, Levin, you are so bad. How did you realize that the king is in disguise?'

Because of Levin, Rion was forced to cancel his intentions of returning to the room. Levin was a member of the Black Panther ⁠— an elite force formed directly by Rion.
