Quenhyra POV "Hah! Hah! Hah!" I awoke from my sleep. Every night that nightmare keeps on repeating in my deep slumber and every time I think of it, the memories of my past keeps on playing in my head. Being imprisoned and slaved to the Vampire King is the most horrible experience that happened in my life and I don't want to experience it again. And if I have to run and hide until I die I will do it and do it again and again. After that incident, my life is not normal as before I need to feed myself to survive and I guess hoping for a better future. I won't forget the night that I escape from my abuser even though I am tired and weak. I tried to run away and succeeded. I don't know where I was heading back then but there is one Good Samaritan who helps me. She's like my older sister my best friend the one who saves me from dying. I got up from my bed and went out of my room and out of the house, I sat on a wooden bench. I looked at the stars. Stars make me feel calm and relief at this time. It was three o'clock in the morning when I woke up from my nightmares. It was already dawn but I know others, humans mostly are already victims of the creatures I hated. It's the year 2020, where vampire ruled the world. And who is the vampire that rules all monsters, Definitely, the Vampire King himself. People today are full of fear because if a person won't volunteer as their blood bank you'll become their slaves. Others were lucky if fate has chosen a person as their beloved. I fixed the coat I had on my shoulder for protection against the cold. The breeze is so cold and the surrounding was soothing into my skin. Crickets, mosquitoes, and other insects were making sounds. Any simple-minded person would not think that this time was so dangerous for a human. "Your nightmares again?" I heard my savior's voice -Almera Carish Goodheart, who opened the door for me. "Is your nightmares hunting you again?" She asked softly as a sister would do. I nodded at her. She's a Witch. A good one to be exact. It feels like a cliché story if I still don't believe in witches. If I could count one creature that has been emerging in the human world I consider witches as one of them. Creatures that I would not even consider existing if I am still a child. I told her everything that happened to me and she promised me that no one would know who really I am. "Every part of that dream is sealed so, its essence." My voice cracked while saying those words again. She hugged me again, she's the only one I trusted with my life. "Shhh, I told you I would protect you, I would never give you to him or anyone even if it would cost my life." She always tells me these words to calm me down. But, I can help myself especially if my fears are all around me. I know he's hunting me, finding me and killing me is on his top list, his priority and I know I can't hide or run. "I couldn't help but think of this Mera especially since I still have it." I traced the tattoo imprinted on my neck. I got this night when he hardly bit me to death and the night I have escaped. "No, he won't find you if you always wear it." She said holding the red diamond pendant she gave to me. It will hide my blood scent and my traces, her family is known for making Vampire Amulets it's her special ability too. "Hopefully Mera, hopefully," I told her as I looked at the stars again. I wished I were more like them. Free and beautiful, no problem. An arm hugged me. "It's alright, I am here. I am here. Go to bed, School will be starting again tomorrow." She said kissing my forehead and walked away. Yeah, School! My most hated place where vampires spread like parasites. Why do I have to go to school? My wise best friend, she insisted that I do it so, that no one would suspect who really I am. In other eyes, I'm her little sister who lost for a long time and found a year ago. Where is it better to hide my identity? Ofcourse, sa mismong lungga ng mga parasitiko. I deeply sighed. Once again I lay down on my bed and close my eyes as I fall asleep again... "GAILZIE QUENHYRA GOODHEART! GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!" Argh! Why Mera is bad in timing? Where is my sleep? It's really bad. Did I really sleep? "KUNG HINDI KA GIGISING DYAN IIWANAN KITA!" She shouted scaring me a little. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs so I hurried to get up and go to the bathroom. She looked at me head to toe and shake her head. "Tsk," She tsked at me as she pulled me outside the hiyse while giving me a sandwich for breakfast. She insisted to stay in the middle of the forest. She can do her magic here while protecting me. We had to protect ourselves because one time the King's men almost found me. I pouted while walking. Mera laughed at me. She knew I was lazy when it is early in the morning. Piningot niya ang ilong ko. She smiled. Well, no one can resist my cuteness. "And you know I didn't sleep well, did you?" I answered her. I bite the sandwich she made for me. "Yeah, yeah, I know. Just take that and eat it out because I've got my teleportation magic ready." She said going out. Our house is safe here because of Almera. No creatures can enter five miles away from our house. I looked at her while chanting languages she can only understand. Suddenly, the circle shine. I close my eyes then when I open it we are now behind the big tree near the University we are attending. Why do we need to go to school? I don't know either. I was just following Mera and I don't want to be home alone so, I agreed on a condition that she would not leave me. "Nhy, let's go," I nodded and walked into the massive School gate but before that, I looked at the big name of the University. CX University- School for humans and most especially Vampires. I've been studying here for over two years now. I spent three years at home because I was afraid to get along with others especially vampires. My name is Gailzie Quenhyra Goodheart, I am twenty-one years old, a student at CX University. This is what everyone else knows and I will keep going as long as I can because I don't want to go back to those nightmares I went through...
