Burning Fire
The moon was just starting to peak over the mountains as she walked through the woods behind her large two story mansion like home. The building had been in the family for centuries and Celestia had made it a point to learn all about her families history. Normally werewolves would live in packs, but her family was different they had a very old special blood mingled with the werewolf gene. Tonight was the night she would change for the first time. Her mother explained what the first change feels like and Celestia would be lying if she said she wasn't scared. Honestly, she was more worried if the blood mingled with the werewolf gene would overpower the wolf side. She hoped against this since that blood is what made her family go into hiding hundreds of years ago. She looked back at the moon which was almost over the mountains, any minute now she would know if she was a werewolf or if the blood her family had been hiding for centuries was finally going to shine through. She made sure she was alone before taking or her clothes and hiding them under a bush and walking back so the small creek shimmering in the moonlight.
She looked up as the moon broke over the mountain and covered her body in its bright white light. She felt her body drink in the moonlight as her body lurched forward and she instinctively wrapped her arms around herself preparing for the pain her parents had warned her about. She felt bones breaking and reshaping as she placed her hands in the dirt by the stream. She was surprised because as the bones broke and reformed it happened faster then she would've expected and surprisingly she felt no pain at all. Finally when her body seemed to stop changing she looked into the stream to see what she looked like.
Her body was black with white feet and two white stripes down her back along with a tuff of white at the end of her tail and her wolfs eyes were dark purple just like her human eyes. She leapt over the stream with excitement knowing her parents would be happy to hear she turned into a wolf and her little sister would think she was adorable. Suddenly she was pulled out of her thoughts by a scream in the distance toward the town and her home. Without even thinking she speed off in the direction of home praying to all the gods above that her family was okay. The trees speed by faster then she thought possible and there seemed to be almost to much light breaking through the trees the closer she got to the town. She thought something was wrong with her her eyesight before she sniffed with her nose and realized that the forest was filling with smoke.
She broke out of the treeline to see that the whole town was on fire people were running frantically to put out fires and there were large wolves jumping on other people and killing them. She looked up to her hone, it was the only building not on fire and there were several large wolves outside the house along with her parents wolves guarding the door protectively. Her little sister was probably inside and as she went to run to help her parents a wolf charged her from the side. They tumbled over each other and he snapped at her throat, but she was able to through him off before his teeth caught anything more then fur. Celestia was up and charging at the other wolf before he could even stand up. She let her wolf side take over as she pounced on top of him and ripped off his wolf head and tossed the bloody thing to the side. She saw an older woman cornered against a wall and looking around she realized her wolf was almost twice the size of most of these wolves which surprised her so she easily leapt onto its back grabbing it by the neck and snapping it in seconds. She regarded the older woman before running off towards her home, she was the town baker.
She could her fighting and growling at the house and as she rounded the corner she heard nothing but silence. She stopped in her tracks as she watched in horror as both her mutilated parents wolf forms slowly reverted back to there human bodies. She heard a scream from inside the house and shifted back running in the front door as her sisters body tumbled down the stairs lifeless as blood pooled around her head at the bottom of the stairs. Celestia let out a scream of anguish, Leanna was only ten years old how could they. She looked up and moved to the side as two man started to make there way down the stairs. She grabbed her fathers dragon-bone twin swords out from behind the bookcase and then launched herself at the unsuspecting men cutting them in two easily. She looked at the exquisite blades that her father said should never be used. She always found them extremly beautiful and they were the only weapons ever to be made of dragon bone because it took a dragon to forge dragon bones into weapons using magic and dragon breath, and dragons were believed to be extinct now. She grabbed a pair of pants and a cloth short and pulled them on before going back over to her little sisters lifeless body. She moved her sister hair out of her face and closed her eyes before saying a small prayer to the moon and dragon goddesses.
She turned as she heard more foot steps come in the front door with the sound of dragging as well. She watched in anger as both her parents mangled dead bodies were thrown in front of her as a burly disgusting man spoke, "We gave them the chance to come with us willingly and they choose to fight. So we killed them easily."
"Easily?" Celestia spat out seeing red start to cloud her vision, "if it was so easy why were there ten of you dead outside my door? Why would it take two fully grown men to kill a ten year old girl? Easy?! I will make sure to end your lives easily for what you have done."
"You are only one there is ten of us do not over estimate yourself and make the same mistake as your parents," the man said smirking. Celestia snapped and her hands wrapped around the blades she brought them up elegantly and before they even knew what happened she had cut off two of the ten men's head and then swept another man's feet out from underneath him driving both blades into his chest. She saw nothing but red and didn't notice that the blades were glowing red with dragon fire along the blades. She felt no heat from the blades but they burned a large whole in the man's chest as she removed them. The man who spoke widened his eyes in shock and surprise. Now it was her turn to smirk as his eyes filled with fear she quickly dispatched two more making five of the ten men dead in less then a minute. Her father had trained her well and the man who spoke rose his hands saying he would tell her who sent them. She finished off two more her breathing erratic as she tried to calm the wrath building in her chest. She needed to know who the true killer was.
He had the last two men standing on either side of him in there wolf forms. She took a couple more deep breaths to calm herself more because the wrath inside her was screaming to just kill them and be done with it. She needed to know. She needed to kill the man responsible it was the only way to sate her anger.
"Who? Why?" was all Celestia was able to get out. She had calmed down enough that the blades were no longer glowing but it was still taking a lot of energy to stay in this spot.
"I don't actually know his name. Just that he is very old and said he wanted your family brought to him and if they refused to kill them. I said he would rather have you join him but if you refused he wanted you all dead instead of a threat," the man said almost taking cautionary steps backwards with the wolves.
"That gives me no idea where to find him or who he is," Celestia said angrily. The rage she was barely containing exploded and both the wolves died as she speed around the man ending there lives quickly. She held the tip of the burning blade to the burly man's throat and said, "You tell this man that I am coming for him he will pay for taking everything from me. Now run before I change my mind."
The man speed off changing into wolf form once outside the door and then he disappeared into the treeline without so much as a glance back at her. She sheathed both the blades and took the next few hours to clothe and clean her parents and sister of the blood and dirt on them. Then she took them outside and buried them by the lake. The moon had lowered and the sun was beginning to rise. As the moon disappeared she felt her wolf powers lessen slightly but as the sun rose she felt a different strength within her awaken. She wasn't sure exactly what it was but she would use this power and her wolf to find those responsibly and make them pay for what they stole from her. The sun glistened off Wildfire lake and made the mountains look like fire as it shone past the peaks.
She let a single tear escape her eye before she wiped it away angrily. She would not cry she would not let this man, whoever he was, have that kind of power over her. She stood up over her families grave prayed to the moon goddess to accept them in her home and then she prayed to the dragon goddess for courage and strength to avenge them and she took the swords and her mothers amulet which was a dragon and wolf encircling one another, her families crest. Then she ran into the woods determined to never return home until she had avenged there deaths.
