Scents and Auras

My brother, Danny, seemed to be such a kind person. He was nothing but smiles when he walked up to me. When he pulled me into a hug, I was definitely caught off guard. I thought he may be like his sister and mom, but thank God he wasn't. I wanted to get along with at least one sibling. He drugged me along with him to meet up with, I'm assuming, are his friends. They hardly looked my way, though they smiled at me. No one said a word to me, and I was beginning to think that they didn't like me. It wasn't until we made it outside that I was bombarded with question after question. I could only say a shy thanks for the strange compliments. "Why did your eyes just get foggy like that?" I asked Danny. He and the others seemed to come out of a trance of sorts and focused back to me. "It's called mindlinking. It's something all wolves can do when connected through the shared connection of our pack." Danny said, smiling at me, but it slowly faded. "I'm sorry. I just realized you... you don't have a wolf... I'm also sorry that it was my mom who caused your mom and our dad to break up. You spent your whole life not knowing him, then you get a special "greeting" from my mom and sister." He rolled his eyes but also looked down, looking ashamed. Danny was bigger than me by 5 inches, as well as the other guys. He shared in our father's features, having black hair that was pushed back out of his face, with the same gray eyes Sierra has. He has full thick lashes and brows and a pointed nose that matched mine. He was slightly tan and looked rather muscular for his age. All in all, my brother was very handsome. The best thing about him, though, was that his scent was pleasant. He smiled like honey and coconut. His aura was just as soothing to me like our dads. I smiled at him and took his hand in mine. He popped his head up quickly, tightening up his hand around mine. "You have nothing to apologize for, Danny. I don't blame you for something you weren't even there for. Neither of us asked to be here or be the reason for the hurt of the other. I'm sure you and your family were hurt finding out about me. And I can assure you, I wasn't too pleased to find out that not even a good day went by before our dad went on with someone else. But those hurt feelings lie with the adults. They were the ones who made the decisions. My mom made a choice after finding out the truth from our dad. He loved my mom dearly, but he also loved his pack. He couldn't make a decision, so she chose for him. Whether or not we think it was right, it was right to them at the time. I'm told the mates bond is very important and not something you can fight. Our dad did what was right for his people. I can't be mad at that. I'm a bit angry, but not for choosing his people. Besides, had he not, you wouldn't be here and I wouldn't be able to meet you and I like you, Danny. So please don't blame yourself. It's ok." I smiled at him, and I meant every word. I'm his big sister now, so I will not let him shoulder a burden that is not his to carry. He looked at me with relief on his face and smiled back. "Thank you." He squeezed my hand, and I squeezed back. "Ok! Enough with the mushy stuff. I'm Stephen. You can call me, Steph." I turned to look at a boy who was the same height as Danny. He had dirty blonde hair, like Kyle. Unlike him, his was wavy and came to his shoulders. He had beautiful green eyes, with a tan and just as broad and muscular as my brother. They all were. His aura was bright as well, but it was subtle. It's kind of like a calming morning sunrise. His scent was dewy like freshly wet grass in the morning. I smiled at him and waved. "Ok, Steph." He gazed at me, almost in a daze. "You're really pretty, did you know that? Do you look like your mom?" One of the boys beside him nudged him hard, almost knocking him over, while the other hit him upside the head. Danny gave him a glaring look. Stephen looked confused, then like he suddenly remembered my mom just passed, looked regretful. "Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't mean that." "It's ok. I do look like my mom, though I'm the cheap knockoff. She was absolutely gorgeous. Also, you don't have to walk around on eggshells for me. I actually like talking about her." I smiled selodomly, looking down at my feet tryna fight back tears. "Well, I'm Elias. It's really nice to meet you. You can call me Eli, if you like." I looked up and nodded at him with a small smile. He seemed leaner than the others but still just as muscular. He had full brown hair and blue eyes, which to me was a beautiful combination. His aura felt sturdy yet gentle. His eyes didn't give away any of what he thought, but I felt studied by them. He'd make a great teacher of sorts. His scent was a woody musk. It didn't smell unpleasant. He just smelled like trees. I wonder if he's always outside. The last boy seemed more reserved. He stepped closer as he introduced himself. "My name is Logan." He said gently. He was an interesting one. He had dark brown hair, which was long at the top, pulled into a small bun, and was short on the sides, but manicured nicely. He had beautiful light brown eyes that could almost be seen as hazel if you weren't paying attention. He had a beauty mark on the side of his lip. His aura felt like a hidden storm, but not in a dangerous way. He seemed protective but cautious. Maybe it was because I was here. My brother must be a dear friend of his and doesn't want him to get hurt. I smiled at that. His scent was very floral. He smelled of lilies and roses. I think it suited him. He was quite pretty for a boy. I mean, they all were very handsome, but he seemed to be more pretty than handsome to me. I gave him a reassuring smile. "You don't have to be so wary of me. It's nice to meet you too." His eyes widened at my words, and he took a step back with a questioning look on his face. "How did you know I was being cautious?" He frowned and folded his arms. I shrugged. "It's like I can see the essence of people, whether they're good or bad. I know that you all are good people. You, Logan, have this undercurrent of a storm right now, almost like you are preparing for something, but not in a threatening way. Although you smell like flowers to me, which is fitting considering I think you're very pretty for a boy." I smiled happily at him and took a deep breath. They all stared at me in shock. I raised a brow in confusion. "What?"
