When Ethan returned home, he went straight to the bathroom. Chloe's toiletries covered the sink. Cleansers, serums, and creams took up most of the counter, leaving only a narrow corner for Vivian's things. He swept everything that belonged to Chloe into a storage bin. Then he emptied the cabinet of every matching item she had brought in and dumped it all by the door. As he bent down, he noticed two faint initials scratched into the inside of the cabinet, the first letters of their last names. Vivian had secretly carved them during the renovation and called them their own little mark on the place. He had laughed and called her childish.
