I slammed my fist into the wall, cracking it with all the rage I had left inside me.
**********
The wall gave way, and both figures stopped. They turned their attention to me as I walked in.
I saw Kael’s shameless body and Mira’s exposed chest. She rolled her eyes upon seeing me and laid her head back on the bed.
“Mate, let’s continue,” I heard her say, and I gritted my teeth in anger.
“He’s my mate. You’re just a w***e,” I spat, and Kael shot me a glare. I wasn’t going to be silent. I was mad, rage seething through my veins.
“I waited days for you! I sent you letters, did you even bother opening them?” I asked, my voice trembling. Kael’s eyes darkened, but he looked away. He continued to thrust hard into Mira, and she moaned.
It was like watching a live porn scene-disgusting.
“Ahhh, harder! Push it in!” she screamed louder, and I froze. Were they seriously ignoring me?
“Kael!” I yelled, my voice cracking. I wanted to break down, cry, scream-but I had to stay strong. For myself and for my wolf.
She was already weak, tired, and heartbroken. I could hear her whimper.
"He hurt us. He promised he wouldn’t…” she whispered.
"He did" was all I could manage to say back. She retreated into herself, crushed.
“Go and sleep. Tomorrow, we’ll talk,” Kael finally said, and those words tore my heart in two. He wasn’t even looking at me, just enjoying his betrayal.
I couldn’t think straight. I wanted to pull out Mira’s hair. She was a betrayer. They both were.
“Why?” I managed to whisper, but he ignored me like I was nothing, like I didn’t even exist.
I turned to Mira, hoping for some kind of answer.
“He’s my fated mate. The one the Moon Goddess gave me. You don’t deserve him,” Mira snapped as if reading my mind.
“What? When? How?” I asked, barely able to breathe. My heart ached at the sight. My chosen mate-my-sister-together?
My wolf cried louder inside me. I was hurt. Shattered. I had spent my life loving him, dreaming of having pups with him… and now it was all gone.
“After a few weeks of him being with you, while you were his Luna… What did you expect me to do? He’s my mate, not yours,” Mira shouted.
Tears welled up in my eyes. She could have told me. She should have told me. I would have walked away. I would have left unbroken… but now I was broken, bitter, and betrayed.
“You could have said something,” I whispered but Mira scoffed.
“And watch you live my life? My mate? My pack? My status?” she snapped.
I chuckled bitterly.
Why wasn’t Kael saying anything? Was I that meaningless to him? I needed to hear it from his mouth.
Mira must have noticed my stare and started moaning louder again. It felt like a scream against my soul.
If he wouldn’t speak, then I would end it.
“I, Luna Serra—”
“Stop,” Kael finally said, and Mira frowned. The look she gave me was full of malice, like I had stolen her entire world.
“You can still be Luna,” Kael said. “But Mira will be my mate. She’s my priority now.”
His words made my stomach turn. Was he bargaining with me? Was I just a title to him now?
“You need the title. You know that,” he added.
Mira didn’t say anything, just stared at me, waiting for my response.
I would make them both pay. I would hurt them the way they hurt me. But not by staying. Not by accepting scraps.
“I, Luna Serra, reject Alpha Kael as my mate. This bond is severed, unwelcome, and broken,” I declared, my voice cracked and rough.
Mira’s eyes lit up-she was happy. Happy to have won. But I would make her cry, one day. Just like I felt.
I turned to leave, but paused at the door.
“Kael… did you ever love me? Even once?” I asked. I just needed something, anything. My wolf wanted to hear it-just to know we weren’t fools from the beginning.
“No,” he said simply.
And that was it. My heart broke completely.
I walked away without another word, but Mira’s moans still echoed behind me.
I slammed my bedroom door shut. My eyes were dull, dead. I felt my chest tighten.
“We loved him. We made him our first priority… w-we…” my wolf cried softly, and I could feel her pain.
“Aren’t you hurt? You’re not even crying. Did you see it coming?” she asked.
I rested my forehead on the door. My hair fell around my face, and I chuckled bitterly.
“I have no tears left to cry. Let’s start packing. My revenge begins now,” I muttered.
“If he betrayed me with my sister… then I’ll betray him with his uncle.”
