“If he betrayed me with my sister… then I’ll betray him with his uncle.”

Next Morning
I opened my eyes and yawned. I had slept well last night for some unknown reason. Although I was still hurt, I couldn’t allow myself to wallow in pain and sadness over something that had already happened.
I had packed my bag yesterday, preparing to leave his life, and this pack. If I stayed, I would be a laughingstock, a juicy piece of gossip for others to mock. I didn’t want that.
My life was already sad enough.
I stretched my arms and climbed out of bed, my bare feet sluggishly carrying me to the bathroom. Even though I had slept well, I felt mentally and emotionally drained. Being an Omega wasn’t easy. It was no joy.
I learned that while working in wealthy Gamma homes and later getting transferred to the Alphas’ household. That was where I met Kael. He was sweet, swept me off my feet, and for a while, it felt like everything made sense. But it didn’t.
I stared at the half-dead girl in the mirror-me. My eyes were swollen, with dark shadows beneath them. My cheeks were dry, my eyes wet with tears I refused to let fall. My hair looked like the wind had given it a haircut.
I couldn’t help but laugh. Yeah, I was in pain, but my thoughts scattered when I heard my bedroom door creak open.
I rushed out of the bathroom and there he was. Kael, standing like a man about to march into battle.
I almost laughed again. I was starting to think I was going crazy from the betrayal. His... and Mira’s.
My dad and mom were killed in a rogue attack. It had been just two sisters against the cruel, cold world of the packs. I worked multiple jobs, sacrificed my freedom, just for her to have s*x with my mate, the man I loved.
Wasn't she even an Omega? We were blood! She severed the bond. I did so much for her. I loved heras a sister, as a friend, as someone who should’ve loved me back. But it was all for nothing. All my help... meant nothing.
I scoffed at the sight of him and crossed my arms under my chest. “What do you want?” I asked coldly as he exhaled sharply.
“Am I being banished?” I added, but before he could reply, Mira walked into my room and I frowned. The devil herself finally decided to show her face.
She looked forced to be there. My mind immediately flashed to her moans and the image of them last night. I frowned deeper. Bitterness spread through me like venom. I needed answers... but I didn’t want to hear her sob story.
“I wish,” she muttered, “but Kael has other plans.”
I cursed under my breath at her words.
Yeah, she was always the perfect one, even when I was nothing, stepped on, invisible. She got the social life, the perfect façade—all because of me.
“Stay,” Kael said, then paused. He stared at me, his lips parting to speak sweet, calming words, but I was done listening.
I had already decided what to do with him. And with my traitorous sister.
“I’m not staying,” I said before he could speak again.
He froze, stunned by my words. Good. He should be. I wasn’t the love-struck Serra he used to know.
“Stop acting all high and mighty. You’re just an Omega playing hard to get,” Mira muttered-and I lost it.
My hands clenched into fists, and I punched her in the mouth.
She stumbled back, shocked by my attack. Kael, being the overprotective mate, rushed to her and caught her in his arms. He frowned, then glared at me.
“I thought you were kind—not this vile,” he shouted, and I scoffed.
“Should I be? You f****d my little sister,” I snapped, my eyes dark with rage.
“Kick her out! Exile her!” Mira yelled, and I laughed bitterly.
“You’re an Omega too,” I said coldly. “No amount of social parties or fancy galas will change that.”
“Stop this, both of you. I get it,” Kael said, frustrated. “But you can’t blame us. We’re fated. It’s a bond—a bond that can’t be broken. I can’t resist her, not even for a second.”
His words hit me like a dagger to the chest. His wolf... our bond... it all meant nothing to him. I wasn’t his priority. I never was.
“Then you should’ve never proposed,” I said. “I should’ve been on my own, drinking shots and drowning in heartbreak.”
Mira’s eyes reddened, and suddenly she burst into tears.
She clutched her stomach and let out a scream. Kael flinched, and I froze.
“What’s wrong?” I asked cautiously.
Kael’s expression turned to one of pure fury as he looked at me. His eyes bulged.
“You touched her! You caused this!” he shouted.
Me?
I gritted my teeth, feeling a flicker of guilt, but it died with his accusation.
“Well, it’s not my fault your fated mate is too weak to handle an Omega’s punch,” I spat, not an ounce of pity in my voice.
“Ahhh!” Mira screamed again, and my heart jumped.
“Call the doctor,” I muttered, concern slipping into my voice despite myself.
Then Kael said the words that froze me.
“She’s pregnant!”
I couldn’t speak. I stood there, silent, shattered.
I always wanted pups. I was twenty, and I dreamed of little feet running around, calling me ‘Mommy.’ But he stole that dream from me-and handed it to her on a silver platter.
No wonder she smelled like two lives.
I was too angry to cry, too stunned to speak.
Mira was pregnant.
Wait!
How long had Kael been cheating on me?
