Listening to whatever he was saying right now, he didn’t look like the bad guy everyone painted him to be. He didn’t even look like the guy I knew, he was different from the guy who worked with me, he was better, brighter, and… fun. I mean, the guy I knew buried his nose in his business. The guy I knew was known to never smile, to hate everything that crosses his path, but right now, it’s a different story I'm seeing. He's not all that, and looking at him right now, I see something that is not hate, it’s something much more beautiful. I liked it and I felt it in my guts that I shouldn’t. "Hey, you there?” he asks bringing me back to reality. "Yeah, yeah I am, the story," I say remembering where I left off. "Oly, I just told you the story," he says with a calm tone and with a dramatic look attached to it. "Oh, I mean, I listened. I just urm, didn't understand what you said" I lied hoping he'd believe. Way to go Livs! "This is torture…" he whines. Yes! He believes. "…and you are a really bad lair" Great, too soon. "So summary of the long tale I gave yeah? So after your accident that happened five days back, I brought you here. The doctor said I needed surgery as soon as possible; I had to ask someone for permission but there was no one. Heard you and your mom... "Step mom" I interrupted with a straight face. "Stepmom...” he continues without any questions or a weird look. Thank you, Lord. "We aren’t in touch, so I had to ask my cousin and your other friends, they were cool with it. So since then… you've been out. My cousin came to visit yesterday with your friends, they said they’ll come to see you tomorrow. You’ll leave soon, hopefully, that’ll be according to how fast you heal. So yeah, that has been our boring story so far" he concludes with a straight face and a slight shrug. "Doesn't sound so boring" I say rethinking it all. "Really? Why’s that?" he asks with so much interest. "You were in it all," I say with a warm smile and a shrug After hearing myself, I mentally slap myself for saying that. 'You were in it all?' Wow Livs, just wow. You're in the hospital with the only guy they warned you about, have been away from work for five days, have an outstanding hospital bill, haven't called your friends, and all you can do is go all Shakespeare? Just wow. "Guess so" he replies with a smile. After some hours of laughing about nothing in particular, we talked about work and told him about my friends which he seems to know quite well, and all the other stuff that comes along with catching up. In between the awkward silence that kicks in during the never-ending conversation, my tummy decides to rumble. "Hungry I see," he says staring at me. "Famished" I correct him. "I'll call Pheobe on my way out, alright?" he says standing up. "On your way out?" I ask a bit confused. "Yeah, need to tell the doctor you're up," he says bringing his phone from his pocket. "Oh-okay. Pheobe?" I ask. "She's my assistant. Don't worry she's real nice." he finally says as he closes the door behind him.
