Chapter 1
"So what do you like to do for fun?"
She stared at him waiting for an answer that never came. "Well, I guess you do nothing but just work all day, that's why your group is the biggest. There is Damson MontClair. Of MontClair, the family that has an entire town to themselves, so I wouldn't be surprised if nothing interests you and things people like us find intriguing, couldn't possibly be for you, so maybe there's something else outside work that excites you?"
She asked again and this time he looked up from his phone and straight at her and said.
"Do you always talk this much or is this a special occasion?" He asked out of anger laced with curiosity, hoping she would just shut it...
She chuckled nervously. "I didn't mean to...."
"I know you didn't mean to, so what's your name again?" he interrupted her as she started to explain and give him details about her, her family, and her work.
Everything blurred out again, he zoned off, he couldn't hear a damn thing that she was saying, and he wasn't doing it intentionally, he was just bored and so irritated, but his morals would not let him leave, so he sat there, enduring Abigail’s endless chatter about vacations and handbags. He hadn’t heard a single word.
The things he does for his mother and to make her happy shock him He's still alive after it all
****************
Lisa Walter was a 27-year-old woman who has worked different types of job just to keep food on the table and pay tuition fees for her younger brother and now here she is working as a waiter in a fancy restaurant serving expensive food to expensive looking people but there was this particular table that caught her eye, the woman yapping away, the man nodding, but it was clear he wasn’t listening.
“That’s why love is dead,” she told herself as she picked up a menu and headed towards the table, but even from the back, she could tell he was no ordinary man. The Montclair name made her blood boil, but she smiled anyway. Tonight, she will play her part.
His all-black suit screamed he didn’t want to be there at all. She could feel his wealth from where she was, and as soon as she got to the table and bowed her head, she then asked, "What would you like to order now?" Giving the best smile of her life while she was at it
At first, he didn't look up, and Lisa wondered to herself how broad a man's chest could be for it to show while wearing a three-piece suit.
"I would like the most expensive things on the menu. I am quite sensitive when it comes to food." Abigail, the lady with him, said without even glancing at the menu, it was either she was stupid or she was flaunting her money; either way, Lisa turned to the lady with the heavy make-up that covered her beauty, she could just tell.
"Very well Ma'am." She smiled then turned to him. "What about you sir? Same thing?" He finally reluctantly tore his gaze from his phone then looked up. "No, thank you, I will just have...." he then stopped his words midway, with her head still lowered a bit and not seeing his face properly. She panicked. She thought she had said something wrong, or maybe it was the way she stood. Immediately, she raised her head.
"Just what Sir?" She asked looking into his eyes with her hands shaking and legs almost going up
“‘Is that your real hair?" Damson asked, sudden and disarming. His eyes stayed fixed on her, demanding an answer she hadn’t expected.
Her pulse skipped, of all the things he could’ve asked...
"What?" Lisa was stunned then faced the Other lady as if looking for an explanation for what had just happened but he said nothing and still looked at her for answers
“Hmmm, yes. It is.”
His gaze didn’t waver. “The colour. The length. It’s full… beautiful.”
Her pulse skipped. “I… apologise for letting it down, sir.” She spun around quickly, fumbling for the spare pen tucked in her pocket. In one motion, she twisted her hair into a bun, trying to hide what he’d just noticed.
But when she turned back, he was already standing. Face to face. His eyes locked on hers…intense, unyielding, and her stomach knotted. Not from fear, but from something far more dangerous.
He then reached out and pulled the Pen out of her hair
"Much better ..." giving her the Pen
"I think I will get a refill please," he said then sat back down then dropped his phone Face down on the table, and looked back at her but this look was more of curiosity and a little bit of lingering stare than being apologetic, which left Lisa in a daze
"You need a refill?" She repeated unable to unsee what just happened or how nonchalant he is about it
"Yeah! Suddenly this restaurant seems to live up to its expectations or would you rather recommend me Something else, I'm open to anything" he said moving his head from side to side trying to see her name tag through all that hair she's got and that made him smile, finally he saw it
"Miss Walter," he said returning to his original position
Lisa left immediately she felt like she had been stripped naked for some reason and with every step that she took away from him she could feel his eyes all over her. Her pulse raced, but beneath the nerves she was feeling, a thought cut sharp as glass she wanted him to notice her, because that was the plan. Just not like this. Not this soon. She wanted his attention, but not the kind that left her trembling.
"Mad! That's what he is, a mad person! I should've known better, he is THE Damson Montclair, proud as hell, and sees nobody as his equal. He must see everyone else as ants in front of him...that mad man!" She said to herself as she closed the door behind her and let all that tension flow out of her system. She wasn’t here for a love story; she knew who she was up against, but she was as strong mentally, and she could handle it...so she thought...
Montclair was a name she hated and despised to the core of her being and seeing him made her sure of her plans and her downfall along with the Montclair empire...
Seduction, she had never done that. But for him, she would undo and run miles just for him to fall, but she mustn't; her mother can’t see her slipping up on the first day...
This is a done deal and she will see it through no matter what...

Damson sat for hours, waiting for her to come back out, which she never did, had him thinking he wasn’t who he thought he was.
His mother's idea of a woman fit to be his wife stood up and left and all he could do was watch her leave with serious anger on her face but he genuinely didn't care all he wanted to see was Walters and he didn’t till a call came in saying he was needed at the office and he could feel how reluctantly he got up from that chair into his car
"Find me a server named Walters. Blonde hair. Sharp eyes. Don’t ask why."
He said then paused and faced his driver then continued "You've got six hours"
"Yes young master" he replied Clueless
