Lucious POV: The Hunter

437 Words
I’ve lived in this forest for as long as I remember, there are walls surrounding most of my territory. I can smell everything while in my wolf form. The mud squishing between my paw pads, the wind running through my fur as I run harder and harder to hunt down tonight's dinner. I get closer and closer to the wall trailing after a rabbit I’ve had in my sights this whole run.   Suddenly my wolf comes to a crashing halt, when it hit us, the most delicious sent of peaches and honeysuckles. We look around, before looking up to see a silhouette at the top of the wall, long hair blowing in the breeze as we inhaled deeply again. The scent was intoxicating and slightly arousing.   I stared for what seemed like years at the silhouette high above me. The more we watched the more we could make out the scent of another shifter, like us, but also different. From the forest floor I could make out her size roughly. She was rather small, with long dark hair that reached the mid of her back. I was entranced when I heard my wolf speak.  “let's get closer”   “no, we might scare her off” I retorted.  My body started moving without my consent as my wolf went closer to the wall. This intoxicating creature wasn’t even looking down at us, she was staring at the moon at this point letting the wind sweep around her bringing her scent crashing into me. The closer we go the better I could see her, her bust was rather large, but she had what looked like small legs.   Within a few minutes she moved so her back was facing me now as she disappeared behind the wall. I whimpered as the intoxicating creature was no longer in sight.   With one last glance up at the wall, my wolf howled as if his heart was breaking. My heart was breaking, I would never see her again. With a huff we turned and started looking for our prey again, before realizing, our dinner had escaped. The events of the night were disappointing, so I decided to head home.  The walk back was long and excruciating. As I got closer to my cabin where I could shift back safely, I spotted a deer. I licked my lips and bared my teeth, stalking my new prey. The deer was eating not alert, when I took a running start and lunged at my prey, taking it down in a single bite to the neck. This would feed me for the next couple days.
