Alphas Don’t Beg

Gabriel POV We are heading to the alpha meeting at the king's pack. It will be a long three-day thing starting from tomorrow that I have never attended before. I know I’m the beta and should always follow my alpha in these things, but with the Luna’s condition, he always wanted someone trust worthy with her when he leaves. Now her condition is getting worse and she looks like she is going to leave us soon. That’s why he couldn’t leave her and that’s why I’m going instead. I really hope Lauren make it through. Patrick wouldn’t survive it if anything happened to her. And I will be heartbroken. They might be a little older than me, but I have always looked up to them ever since I was a kid. We formed a great bond that he even made me his beta when he became Alpha and I was just 18 years old then. We are passing the no wolf land now where mainly rogues live. “Beta… Look” Jake one of my men, says pointing to a group of wolves fighting with some still in human form. “Should we help?” Jake asks again, but I am too distracted by this magnificent creature, her long black hair that’s tied up in a high pony tail and those mesmerizing blue eyes, I just want to drown in them. “Beta… Gabriel... what should we do?” Jake asks for the third time. “We join, of course”. We all jump out of our cars and join the fight. Between ripping heads and biting flesh, I keep glancing at this extroordinary warrior with blue eyes. She hasn’t shifted yet but she doesn’t even need to with the way she is fighting… are those daggers in her hands? It doesn’t take long before the fight ends and we shift back. I see her eyes on my naked body and I think it’s time to make my move. “see anything you like?” I say with my most charming smile. “I’ve seen a lot of naked wolves before and I got to say” she says with a flirty voice coming towards me. “I’m not impressed”, she continues, and like that my ego is shattered. “Why the hell did you shift Alex? That’s not what we trained for” a guy comes yelling at another girl, so they are training to fight in human form? That’s why blue eyes didn’t shift? “ Zander, calm down” blue eyes say and he stops. Is he her mate? Please not. “I’m sorry, it was instinct, I’m sorry guys, I’m sorry alpha” the girl apologies to her alpha but now the guy called Zander, who is apparently the alpha is pissed again. “What the f**k are you staring at mother fucker?” he yells at Jake, the i***t who is staring at the half, naked Alex and he looks like he is about to tear his eyes out. “Alpha Zander, please, he doesn’t mean any disrespect” I say coming between them. “What? I’m not the alpha” he stops midtrack. “ Oh, I thought… then who was she calling alpha?” I ask confused. “Me... I’m the alpha” blue eyes says all insulted. f**k me! “Alpha Maxima salvatore stronghold, and you are?” She asks not really interested. I’m f****d, that’s what I am. I just insulted the king’s daughter who I was just shamelessly flirting with. Before I even answer, she declares that the king needs them back and they leave like I wasn't even there. I deserve that, I guess. Maxima POV That’s it. That’s the moment I will really prove myself. That I’m not a princess but an alpha. Even though I can’t shift yet, because my wolf is extremely feral, and the last time I shifted on my 17th birthday, it drained me dry and I had to be hospitalized for 4 days. My uncles said it’s because she is an incarnation not a born wolf, she needs more time to restore her own power without basically killing me, so we are waiting. She never talks to me either, all she ever said is that her name is Aleka. Since the shift it’s like she is not there, I can only faintly sense her. My uncles said it’s normal too, because she is trying to restore all her powers , so she went in some kind of hibernation state. Basically, she is not here. I can’t even tell if I met my mate or not. This started a rumor that I don’t have a wolf in the first place, and the prophecy was about one of my brothers, not me. And that’s why this day is even harder for me; I really have to prove myself because a lot of the other alphas think I’m not worthy... but I’m the king’s daughter, so they can’t do anything about it. “Hey little princess” My Dad say, coming into my room. “I’m not a princess, I’m an alpha, daddy… dad… Father” yes, father is more suitable for a woman in my position. “You will always be my little princess Max, deal with it” he says, ruffling my hair. I’m a 21 old woman and he is still treating me like a 10 year old. “Dad, you’ll ruin my hair” I say annoyed, trying to fix it. “you are just like your uncle Dean and his hair… ready for your first alphas’ meeting”, no! “Yes, I just wish mom was here… I really miss her”. “She is always with us, Max, and I bet she wished she could be here too” he says with a smile. “I know, I just need her right now and she is not here” I say with a sigh. “I know Maxima. I know, I miss her too”. “Why are you bitches talking about me like I’m dead?” Mom says coming in. Does no one knock in this house? “Mom, you made it” I say running to her. “Of course I did, I wouldn’t have missed it Maxi.” she says hugging me. “Did you find anything?” I ask. She has been searching for Aunt Leila ever since I can remember. “No, not yet, but soon, hopefully” she says with a sad smile. “Now, you go kick some alpha asses… remember, you are my daughter, you don’t need a wolf or their approval to be the badass alpha that you are” mom says firmly. “Your mom is a badass… a very sexy badass… who apparently forgot all about me” Dad says with a small pout, and mom just jumps into his arms. “Never my alpha” she says and they start to make out… My alpha? That only means one thing. “Oh damn… no… get out… don’t do it in my room. That’s disgusting”, they don’t even answer me as my father carry my mom out … still making out, I might add. Now to the alphas' meeting. - “Hey coz are you ready?” Zander, my cousin and beta asks while we are waiting for dad and mom so we could go to the meeting. I don't even want to know what took them so long. “No” I answer honestly. “ You’ll be just fine Max, stop acting like a little kid, you are an alpha and everybody knows it” Alex my other cousin and gamma says. “ Where are the rest of you?” I ask, The Alexs usually hang close to each other even though they mostly fight. “Lexi and Zina probably raising havoc somewhere, using their royal status to its extreme” Alex says irritated. “ Couple of spoiled brats” Zander adds. “ Auntie Sophia never spoiled you guys”. “No she didn’t, these two are spoiled by nature” Alex replies. “Hey princess” James, uncle Dean's son, my annoying other other cousin. “Hey asshole” I greet him, we love to bicker. “ookay, someone is being extra bitchy today” James says. “Cut it out James, she is already nervous” Zander says. “I’m too. This is also my first alpha meeting” James defends himself. “Yeah, but you don’t have to convince a bunch of asshats that you are worthy, they already love you” I say, they do, he is a charming asshole, unfortunately. “I am pretty loveable that’s true, but if any of those fuckers try to bother you, I’ll have them in the ground in a second, don’t worry”. “That’s just it, you can’t do that, that will only prove to them that I can’t handle myself, James”. “ Okay, as you say princess” he says putting his hands up in mock surrender. “ Don’t call me that” I warn him. “but that’s what you are” he says annoyed. “No, I’m an alpha jimmy” I tease. “Don’t call me jimmy” he grits his teeth. “Then don’t call me princess asshole” I snarl. “Enough” Dad growls from behind. “You both better start acting like a grown ass alphas that you claim you are or I’ll strip you both from your title” Dad scolds us. “Yes, your majesty” we both say bowing our heads in respect. “Now let’s move we are running late” Dad says, then leads the way to the conference room.
