Before I know it, large and warm arms wrap me into a hard-muscled body.
"that's okay Carrie, you did very well today... let it out" Ryan murmurs as he runs his fingers through my blonde hair that somehow made me feel comfortable.
"I can't believe Benz said that" I mutter as I feel hot tears fall down from my eyes.
"I know... but we still don't know the whole story yet Carrie" Ryan reminds me as he looks at my eyes with a comforting smile.
"Why are you so perspective?" I ask out of curiosity as I wipe my tears.
"Well, I learned through experience" Ryan shrugs and I can see some painful memories flashing in his mind as his eyes turn a darker shade of green before turning back to their normal color.
"I guess we all are the same" I smile as I look at him and forcing a smile that is meant to comfort him in a way. I don't know but I feel that somehow, Ryan and I had a similar experience but the way we dealt with it made all the difference.
I always run away from problems whenever I see them while Ryan faces them head-on. I conceal my emotions by keeping myself occupied while Ryan seems to handle it with his smart brain. Talking of brain, I haven't met anyone that is as smart as him. Is he gifted or something?
"thank you for the compliment but no Carrie, I am definitely not gifted. It's my hard work and experiences that help me deal with lots of situations"
How did he know what I was thinking?
"you were thinking it loud and I can read your face easily" Ryan chuckles as he releases me from his warm hug.
"well... I guess so... thank you so much for standing up for me Ryan. I won't have made it if you weren't there" I confess as I look into his sparkling green eyes.
"well if you really want to thank me, I would like you to have lunch with me" Ryan smiles childishly as his eyes scream of victory.
"smart move" I chuckle as I follow him towards his house.
"So, do you stay alone in that huge mansion?" I ask out of curiosity.
"Oh... you don't waste any time do you?" Ryan asks as he looks back at me with a wide smile.
"what do you mean?" I ask confused
"come on Carrie, we made a deal earlier remember? I thought you already started asking questions which was actually the deal we made" How can I forget that? Seems like all those deals got out of my brain in the form of tears.
"Hey, come on, I hate seeing that sad looks... let's forget it happened for now?" Ryan pleaded as he looks at me with puppy eyes.
"I can do that" I smile as I walk beside Ryan trying to keep up with his huge steps.
"Good! Now to answer your question, my parents stay here as well but just like your mother, they are busy with their works but they try to make it up to me by taking me with them for vacation once in a while" I can see how his eyes glints as he speaks about his parents.
"Lucky you," I remark as I continue walking or more like running.
"yup. so what do you want to have for lunch?" Ryan asks as he enters the password.
"how about noodles" I suggest as I try to bring my breathing back to normal.
"man, you better start eating healthy or you will struggle like this" Ryan remarks as he watches me struggle with my breath.
"or, you can use your smart brain and try walking a bit slowly next time?" I snap back as I roll my eyes at him.
"do you ever exercise Carrie?" Ryan asks as he watches me with interest and curiosity.
"I walk to school, I sleep and I run every once in a while when I am late for my classes" I point out as I watch him c***k into laughter. I mean I run at least three miles a week but I am not going to tell him that.
"funny! How about we run at least five miles a day after class?" Ryan suggests as he enters the kitchen.
"why would I do that?" I retort back confused. I mean why would I do that? I am strong enough and have stamina but I agree that me eating noodles and other snacks is unhealthy but what can one do when she cant even cook? I mean I can make coffee, sandwich, and pancakes. If that counts.
"well, if you run five miles a day, meditate with me for fifteen minutes, invite me to read on your table, then I will help you with cook" Ryan suggests as he hands me a cup of coffee.
"thanks but I don't want to learn cooking. Sorry"
"Too bad. How about helping you with history?"
"How do you know so much about me? I didn't even tell you any of these" I look at him Rternly.
"well, my aunt surely loves you so she likes talking about you a lot" Really?
"What else did she say?"
"about you? well, she said that you aim to become a lawyer; which is really cool by the way, she said you love reading and also pointed out that you love reading every book written by the author that you like. She talked about your friendship with Benz, your love for horse ridings. she also pointed out that you usually are an outgoing person who is filled with life and is always funny"
"well... I don't know what to say" I mutter as I take a sip of my coffee.
"Then don't. And by the way, you used up the five questions"
"what? I didn't even start" did I ask five questions already? I can't even remember.
"well too bad because you asked five questions or maybe more but it's done" He smirks.
"You are impossible" I sigh as I try to deal with disappointment for being such a stupid person.
"don't be disappointed now. You still have a chance. If you agree to exercise, meditate and read with me, I will let you ask those questions"
"ha! nice move but I will know about you eventually so I think I will pass" I sass back.
"as you wish."
"Yeah. What are you making by the way?
"I am making spaghetti" Ryan cheers.
"nice."
"Are you bored now?" Ryan asks as he let out a chuckle.
"Yeah, I agree as I look around the kitchen to find anything that would save me from this boredom.
"How about 20 questions?" Ryan suggests she looks at me with sparkling eyes.
"Okay. you can start"
"What is your favorite color?" That's simple.
"Blue"
"I would have bet for ash colors" Ryan smiles as he shakes his head.
"why? Because I wear clothes that are ash in color"
"well yeah."
"fair... so why did you look at me with so much distaste when we first met?"
