"Mia it's time to go so that you don't miss your flight" my mom yelled from the bottom of the stairs
"Ok mom I'm coming" I said. I threw on my favorite trainers, grabbed my bag and ran down stairs.
My mom was taking me to the airport. When I got downstairs she was just finishing putting on her coat. Then I noticed my dad coming out of the living room, he was staying home with my little sister while my mom took me to the airport.
"Goodbye sweetheart, call us when you land ok. To let us know that you got there safely. I love you" my dad said coming over to give me a big hug.
"Don't worry dad I will. I love you too" I sad hugging him back as tight as I could.
"Mia I don't want you to go! I'll miss you so much!" my little sister Kate said running over to me and giving me a big hug, her bright green eye watering as she ran into my arms.
"I'll miss you too little one" I said. picking my sister up as she wrapped her arms and legs around me. "I'll see you in a few months."
There was quite an age gap between me and my little sister. While I was 17 turning 18 in a few month, she was only 5. she was the sweetest little girl you could ever meet.
I put my sister down, picked up my bag, waved goodbye, and headed to the car. My mom following close behind me, unlocked the car and we got in.
"Buckle up, we gotta be safe." my mom said.
"Don't worry mom, I always do." I said.
As we dove to the airport we listed to some music, singing along to it, trying to distract ourselves form the goodbye ahead. The drive lasted for about an hour.
One we got there my mom turned to me with tears in her eyes, giving me a big hug. "Don't forget to call when you land. I love you so much.." she said.
"Don't worry mom, I won't forget. I love you too." I said. Hugging her back as tight as I could. "I'll see you in a few months" I said as I got out of the car grabbing my bag. I waved goodbye as I headed I to the airport to catch my plane.
