UNDER THE FULL MOON
I kept running.
Stopping meant I wanted to die.
My feet was already bleeding.
And my breath came out in short painful gasps.
This was exactly why I used to hate coming into the woods, something always chased me.
Today it was Wolves.
I heard a loud thud right behind me.
I froze.
“Who is there?” I called out with tension, my voice stiffened.
“Mate!” A voice shouted.
I shook and turned around immediately.
A tall, imposing figure, his whole being ethereal, I couldn’t explain it.
He looked scary at the same time enchanting.
“This cannot be real… it must be a mistake.” I heard him mutter under his breath.
When his blue-hazel eyes locked with mine, I forgot how to breath.
“Get out!” He shouted suddenly.
As His voice echoed through the forest it sent shiver down my spine.
Who was he, and why did he look like that, different from humans I have seen, he glowed like an angel.
I turned to leave hastily, scared that he might hurt me.
“A human? No… not a human please!” I could hear him say, his voice breaking behind me as I took to my heels.
As soon as I saw the chopped wood I had gathered earlier, I suddenly remembered the reason why I was in the woods, to get firewood.
My stepmother was surely going to kill me If I didn’t get them home on time.
I rushed back towards where I had started cutting them from before angry wolves came and chased me deep into the woods.
The day had grown really dark, I managed to gather the woods and use the moonlight to find my way. The moonlight had always helped me when It was dark or whenever I lost my way.
My stepmother never let me take a lamp.
“You shouldn’t be out here at this time Mate.”
I shook.
Did he follow me?
I turned around slowly and managed to look up and saw the person standing right in front of me.
I screamed and fell on my back.
“Who are you?” I asked my heart pounding very fast.
He was different from the man I had seen earlier, he appeared older yet still attractive, his features extremely appealing.
He bent slightly, a small smile on his lips.
“Well, my son found his mate and I wanted to see her for myself.”
I didn’t understand a thing he said. He was clearly crazy.
I quickly stood up and ran away before he could say another word.
Relieved but surprised that he didn’t follow me.
I heaved, as soon as I got home. But then I realised i had made the biggest mistake. I came home without any wood.
The forest already terrified me, I didn’t want to go back into it. I had escaped the wolves, and two strange men. I would rather take few stroke then return to a death sentence.
I walked towards the door slowly, I could hear my stepbrother and his mother talk.
“Stop sending her into the woods and find a better way to kill her, sending her into the woods at 10 o’clock won’t get her killed, you have tried that countless times, Mother.”
“Relax, I don’t want us to be any way related to her death, Adams try and understand.”
“Mum, her stupid father left everything in her name, once she turns 18, in the next few months she will kick us out of this house!”
“I know! But we can’t rush things, relax, I know what I am doing.”
I stepped on a branch that made a crack loudly.
They both heard it and looked out. I quickly ran to the backyard before the door opened.

[DEMO POV]
The seal broke, Ragnar must have found his mate, I needed to see for myself who he had be bound to.
Finally after all these years, My son is now ready to take over my throne and I could end this sad, worthless life.
Elma, I have never forgotten you, since you refused to reincante and come back to me, then it’s time I end this worthless and immortal life and reunite with you.
I walked to my balcony and I felt an energy I had never felt before, the full moon shone brightly. Indeed, Ragnar has found his mate.
I followed the trail into the forest.
She’s human?
I was just as surprised as Ragnar. I drew closer to have a better view of his mate.
“Elma?!”
A shock wave travelled throughout my body, I was certain it was Elma, those eyes, the way she looked at Ragnar I knew at once that it was my beloved Elma.
As she ran away, I followed, I wasn’t going to lose her not anymore, I needed to clear my doubts.
When she fell after seeing me, a memory of a thousand years ago struck me, then I knew it was Elma.
A reincarnate.
Without memories
A second chance.
I no longer wished to die or hand over my throne.
