Ch 5

Nishika POV

“I liked you from the moment I laid my eyes on you. I won’t stop until I make you mine” he looked straight in my eyes when he conveyed those words.

I tried to find if whether he was joking but he looked utterly serious. I recovered after I realized that he is not kidding. I made sure to conceal my emotions.

“So, where is the gang?” he gives me a confused stare.

“Come on, don’t act now. I know they might be around here somewhere. I know you are trying to make me feel embarrassed when I will believe what you say and then your friends will come laughing at my expense?”

“isn’t it?” I asked with a smirk on my face.

His brows furrowed and he still acted as if I did not just point out his intention right to his face.

“You are not going to leave that façade of years?” I ask him with a tilt of my chin in his direction.

“There is no façade” he is reply was short.

“Fine, you brought this upon yourself” he looked confused as I stood up from the chair. I came out of the cubicle.

“Where are you guys hiding?”

“Come out right this instant?” I shout. The people were staring at me with not so pleased looks. Nishant understanding what I am up too, came out and tried to pull me inside but I was having none of it.

“What are you doing?” he snaps at me.

“I won’t let your plan to succeed” I snapped at him.

“There is no plan. They don’t even know I am here with you” he informs me through gritted teeth.

“Why should I believe you?” I ask with a hand on my hip. After that I once again call out to his friends. No one came out, but the manager of the restaurant did. I froze at that moment.

“Ma’am is there any problem?” he asks and I only stood still.

 “Ma’am our customers are getting disturbed. If there is no problem then, Please kindly sit inside your cubicle.”

“Everything is alright” intervenes Nishant

“We are sorry for the inconvenience caused” he apologized and then he pulled me inside the cubicle.

Now, I was totally embarrassed. I really made a fool out of myself. I could not even face him.

I snapped my head up when I heard him laughing at me.

“I had to do nothing. You yourself acted stupidly” he was still laughing at my expense.

 I ducked my head down in embarrassment. After some time, he had quieted down, only then did. I look at him. He was still trying not to laugh.

“It is not funny” I muttered embarrassedly.

“You should have seen your face” he laughed once again.

“Stop it” I throw a napkin at him.

After that, the waiter brought our orders. He had ordered paneer masala with butter naan, vegetable pulao with raita. My stomach growled at that moment.

“Now don’t start once again” I warn him before he could start once again.

“Shall we have now or else your stomach might decide to embarrass you further” There was a mischievous glint in his eyes, obviously to tease me.

“Sure” I nod at him. For the next ten minutes, we silently have our lunch. Once done, I see that we have only an hour to complete the assignment.

“I think we should leave now.” I speak.

“What about dessert?” he asks as I drink my water.

“We don’t have time” I stated as took my bag to take my purse.

“Next time” he says and I raised my eyebrows at that.

“Why do you think there will be next time?” I ask him with a serious expression.

“I will make you come with me” he says with conviction in his voice.

“Is that a challenge?” I smirked.

“However, you take it” he smirked back at me.

“We will see” I reply. I was about to get up when he stops me.

“Wait?” I looked at him.

“What is it?” I inquire with my eyes furrowed

 “You have got something there?” he points at my face.

“Where?” I ask as I take a tissue and place it near my mouth.

“Here?” I ask when he shakes his head. “No”.

“Let me do it” he comes to where I am standing and takes the tissue from me.

Suddenly the, atmosphere changed inside the cubicle. He was so near to me. I could smell his cologne. It is scent of woody fragrance. Fresh just like him. He takes the tissue and wipes at the corner of my lips.

Once he was done, his eyes connect with mine, we stand still. He rubs his thumb on my lip, and I gasp at his touch.

At the exact moment, someone clears their throat loudly and I move back. Nishant also moves back.

I turned my head to find the waiter with our bill. I take it from him and was about to place the money, when Nishant Stops me.

“Let me” he says.

I shake my head at him.

“We will split. And don’t argue” I warned him beforehand.

He rolled his eyes at me

“Fine only for this time”

I don’t reply as the waiter was waiting. Once we had settled the bill and placed the tip, we walked out of the restaurant.

“Why do you always say next time?” I inquire.

“About what?” he asks as we enter through college gates.

“That I will come with you next time?”

“So confident, aren’t you?” I muttered to him.

“I was born confident” he replies in his over confident voice.

“Yeah right” I shake my head at his confidence.

“Haven’t I said that I will make you come with me?”

“You did but that does not mean I will make it easy for you” I pointed out. He gives me a grin.

“That means you will agree after making it difficult for me?” There was teasing glint in his eyes.

“You will not stop right?” I asked as I gave him a look.

“Nope” He affirms.

“Try all you want. But there is no chance.” I say to him.

“I already got my first chance. And I am not stopping. This is just the start” He stated with arrogance in his voice.

“You are too much over confident” I let him know. He shakes his head at me.

“No, I am over smart” I rolled my eyes at him.

“Same thing” I pointed out.

“It is not” he grinned. Irritated that he is not stepping back and wants to take me out once again is something not sitting well with me.

“Whatever” I stuck my tongue at him to which he just chuckles. We reach the library and immediately I find an empty seat. I signed my name in the book and took the Accountancy book.

Nishant comes and takes the seat opposite mine. I don’t say anything as I was checking the problems.

“So how are we going to work this?” he asks after few minutes.

“Here take, this. You will solve these three problems with two theory questions. I will solve the remaining. This is how we will explain in class. But now we have to solve the whole assignment.” I remind him to which he nods at me.

“So, you had decided this earlier.” He says with a not so happy expression on his face.

I look up at him, “Did you think me the kind of girl who will fall for your charm with oh so cheesy lines?” I ask with sarcastic tone.

He narrowed his eyes at me. “Those were not cheesy. I was damn serious about liking you” he replied through gritted teeth.

“Could have fooled me” I smirked at him. He scowled at me.

“You are not going to be easy” He stated with an understanding look on his face.

“Finally, you got it. Good.” I nod at him in approval.

“Let me inform you that I am not some to let go easily when I have set my eyes” he whispers as he leans closer to me.

I try to intimidate him with the same stance by giving him a stare of my own.

“Your eyes are meant to stray first keep them in check” I smirked instead.

“Right now, they are focused where they need to be” he murmured. My eyes widened at that. I try to move back only to freeze when he slowly tucks a hair strand behind my ear. The action was simple yet it let my heart racing at close proximity.

“Seems like I left you speechless” he murmured. Immediately I composed myself and moved back.

“In your dreams” I retort and start solving the theory first.

“By the way, now, I know your weakness” he states. I ignored him deliberately, because I know that if I gave him attention, he won’t let me finish my work and neither will he finish his.

“Hey are you listening to me?” he tries to get my attention. When he realised that I am not going to chat with him, only then did he concentrate on his work. We worked silently for the next fifty minutes.

During those fifty minutes, he tried to waver my focus but I was having none fo it. We were able to complete our assignment on time.

“I am done” I inform him, he nods at me.

“Mine as well. Shall we go and submit as we have ten minutes before ma’am leaves?” he asks.

“Yeah. Come on let’s go” I nod at him and then we walk out of the library. We walk the short distance towards our college building. Entering inside, we go straight to the staff room.

We find that ma’am was almost ready to leave.

“Ma’am, here is the assignment” we both say in unison. I snapped my gaze towards him.

He was looking at ma’am but I could see the slight curve of his lips. I turned to face ma’am.

“I see. Good. You both have done the assignment. Nishika, you will go with theory and Nishant will follow with two journal entries. Am I clear?” She asks as she stares from me to

Nishant. We both nod at her in unison.

“Good. I see that working together on single assignment have made you both talk in sync. It is good to see you both are no longer fighting” She smiles at us.

“Of course, ma’am, we will not fight” says Nishant.

“Thank you, ma’am. We shall take your leave” I say.

“Yeah, come prepared tomorrow” she instructs. After giving our affirmation we walk out of there.

I take my cell phone to call Shaam Uncle so that he could pick me up. He picks up in few seconds.

“Hello Nishu Beta,” he says.

“Uncle, will you please come and pick me?”

“I am on my way Nishu Beta. I was about to leave” he informs.

“Okay uncle I will be waiting outside.” I let him know, after that I hung up. I was walking down the corridor when Nishant steps in beside me.

I let out a groan which he obviously hears.

“What’s there to groan about?” He asks with a grin.

“You won’t stop, will you?” I ask even though I knew the answer. He is someone who does not take no for an answer.

Now that I am the first to ignore and say no to him, he is obviously not used to it. That is why he is constantly bugging me. I feel that he is only after me to satisfy his ego which I hurt by not giving him any attention.

“Does it look like I will stop?” he asks backs instead.

“At the end, it still depends upon me’ I smirk at him.

We climb down the stairs and I had to return the book so I decided to go to the library. He obviously decided to follow me.

“You have no work following me. So, leave me alone” I murmured to him as we entered the library.

“You are being my favourite time pass” He whispers. Once I had returned the book, I decided to get the Economics book just to read further. Now as I was going through the shelf, he followed me there as well. He is being irritating now.

“Listen” I start.

“I am all ears” He grins at me.

I grit my teeth “stop irritating me. And stop following me” I warn him with a narrowed glare.

“Like I said earlier, I like you and I am not going to stop until I make you mine “he says with a determined look. I roll my eyes at him.

“Better luck with that.” With that said I walk past him as I have to leave knowing uncle will reach anytime now.

All of sudden I was pulled back with a force that a squeak escaped past my lips. I gasped when I realized that it was Nishant who took liberties. Fuming in anger, I turned and glared at him.
