Chapter 29 – Recovery and Resolve
Jerry gasped and winced as his wheelchair bumped and bounced across the pasture. His whole body ached and burned. He'd probably need multiple surgeries on his shoulder. That bayonet had stuck him good and hard.
The air was cooler and drier than before, and it was actually a pleasant day in the newly constructed Fort Ch'taia. The violent weather had blown through the Elemental Symmetry area destructively but quickly, and the cold front that followed had brought a welcome respite from the brutal heat and humidity.
