Chapter 41 – Keeping Faith “Stay down,” Irylia said to the kids, almost shouting to make herself heard over all the racket. She had herded a few of them behind a stack of crates on pallets. An occasional plasma bolt hit the crates, blowing the wood to splinters, but none of the bolts penetrated all the way through the stack, so she figured it was as safe as anywhere else in the basement. There was a loud crash followed by a cacophony of shouts and curses. Irylia peeked around the edge of the stack. The Reliants had broken through the door and were now charging down the stairs.
