Chapter 23 – The Gray Insurgent
It was shortly after midnight in Jh'taia Falls when Calael began his next attack. He was in the heart of the downtown area where the city's municipal buildings were located. The occupation kept everyone indoors, so the usual sounds of urban night life were absent. The air was still except for the occasional noises from the enemy.
His target was the courthouse, a handsome five-story stone structure with an old-fashioned clock tower. He wore his custom sword harness once again, and when he reached the courthouse, he shifted his sword from his side to his back. He scaled the wall and crept onto the roof.
