Chapter 24 – Invaders and Defenders
“Next platform,” Jerry said over his comm on the platoon-wide channel. “That's where we'll head back up.”
“You've found the Agraricide factory, sir?” Sergeant Gage asked.
“Maybe.” Jerry glanced around the subway tunnel. It looked the same as it had a mile ago. There was nothing visually about it that indicated anything. But there was a vibration that kept pricking at him. It had been getting stronger as they walked, and now the direction was starting to shift, meaning they would soon pass the source if they kept going straight ahead. He couldn't explain exactly why, but his instincts told him it was the factory.
“If our comm maps are correct,” Sergeant Archer said, “then we're right under the heart of the industrial sector. It's as good a place as an
