Logan's POV
I pull out the chair and sit down.
I set my hands flat on the table. I look at my mother. Then my father. "Why didn't you tell me you'd invited Melissa?"
My mother opens her mouth. My father closes it for her.
"Mind your manners." He doesn't raise his voice — he never does. He doesn't have to. "Melissa has been close with us for years. She doesn't need an introduction and you don't need advance notice." He picks up his water glass. "Sit down and behave like an adult."
Lynn packed her bag and stood at the window and told me to go. She said *your family matters* and meant every word of it. She cancelled her evening for this.
