Ivan appears at Melissa's shoulder half a second later — unhurried, hands in his pockets, eyebrows slightly raised in the expression he wears when he's pretending to only be half paying attention.
"Same," he says. "I could eat."
And before I've opened my mouth, Melissa turns to all of us with the decisive warmth of someone who has just solved a problem nobody asked her to solve: "Perfect — the four of us, then. I heard that new place on Seventh is worth the walk."
