Chapter 7, Nothing happened

Anna's pov

After Esmeralda left, I managed to get up from the bathtub so as to finish up my bath. My whole body ached most especially my wrists as I was previously handcuffed with silver , it burned differently.

I took the the towel and wiped myself, afterwards I came out of the bathroom. I grabbed my new nightwear,Oh goddess, it was so soft and I slide into it , admiring myself on the mirror. I loved the sweet sensation it gave to my skin.

I saw my dinner placed on the desk near my bed. I was so hungry, I hadn't eaten all day so I went over to the food and opened the cover.

It was rice and salad,with a little ketchup and roasted bacon. The aroma of the food was just so tempting and I couldn't resist it any longer as I devoured the food gulping down each spoon with so much speed,it tasted so nice too.

Suddenly my stomach ached, it ached so badly that I had to stop eating. I had forgotten I had ulcer, I would have taken lots of fluid before I started eating. I wriggled in pains wishing Fenrir would feel my pains. I let out a cry.

Just then, the door flung open. it was Esmeralda.

“oh dear, what happened?,” she asked immediately while rushing to get me up.

“It is ulcer" I replied gritting my teeth

“Ulcer? but your body is supposed to...."she stopped as she observed my body “my goodness, who did this to you?' she asked when she saw the silver marks on my wrists,

“its silver chains" I replied her still in pains, I guess she had already mind linked the pack doctor because a young woman maybe in her late 20s suddenly came in

She injected me with a drug I didn't know but somehow the pain started to go away gradually.

“ Ma'am,from now on please start with fluids and smaller portions of food mostly vegetables and fruits, for now you'll be alright" the doctor advised, “ I'll check how you're doing by morning",

“Let us get you to the bed " Esmeralda added and I could see so much concern in her eyes despite it was night.

Gently, they laid me on the bed and the doctor went away.

“Thank you Esme, I really appreciate your help"

“Oh stop it, there's absolutely no way you'd be in trouble and I wouldn't help" she replied while tucking me in,

Esmeralda looks like her brother, she has this beautiful figure I'd kill to have, with a beautiful set of dimples and white teeth. Her melanin was so flawless like her brothers'. Her Afro hair was long and thick, even with all the hair manipulations I see girls do, Esmeralda left hers natural. I loved her at first sight.

My mother was a black woman who served my father. She was a maid at the pack house, it happened that when the Luna was away for a business, the Alpha lured her into his studies and r***d her there and the result was me.

As if it wasn't enough he made sure she never mentioned who got her pregnant, only the family knew. When her time came to give birth, she died a few days after birthing, so I never met her.

To the eyes of the pack, the Alpha adopted an orphan whose mother died in their custody so they never imagined he was my real father. So , I can be regarded as a mixed breed.

Esmeralda bided me goodnight and left my room.

A part of me was angry that Fenrir never shower up all through the period I was in pain but another part was glad he didn't. I wouldn't also want him to see me in pains.

Suddenly it hit me, the SHIFT.

It is past 12 already and it didn't happen, nothing happened. Tricia's word came to me, “what if I didn't have any wolf, what if Ava has been a mirage"

As if she read my thoughts,of course she did, she replied me instantly “ You are not strong enough Anna, I am the one suppressing the need to shift, if I allow you pass through this process now, it may kill you and what would I gain, You will shift when you are ready" .

“Oh really,I never knew a wolf can decide that, Ava"

“We are different, Anna " she replied wiggling excitedly “and I can't wait to show you the type of wolf we are".

I smiled to myself and decided to give myself rest.
