Chapter 16 - My soul was complete

I left her with Bec, the thought of her wanting me to stay and leaving anyway nearly undid me. I internally cringed needing to get all this work sorted out quickly. This ceremony had to be completed, Fee’s position at my side solidified. Regardless of what was to come she was my number one priority, more so then this pack, more so then being Alpha, more so then my life. In the space of one day she became my life, my world, she was the other half of my soul that I had been searching and yearning for.

I had been away from her for all of five minutes, but I felt like something was missing. I could no longer imagine a future that did not have her in it. “Adam.” Looking up from my desk, I watched as he entered, his eyes intently locked onto my position.

“Alpha, Luke and Lilly will now be returning separately. Luke should return in just a few days. Lilly has stayed to try and sway the council to support your mates claim to the Luna position. I have been told Larix is also coming to push Erica for the Luna seat.”

Anger raged inside my body, no man, wolf or council member would determine who my Luna would be. There was no better choice then my rightful mate, chosen by the moon goddess herself. “I want two guards on her at all times. If any harm comes to her Adam, I will have more than your neck. This will be your responsibility.”

“Alpha,” Adam nodded in response.

“If all goes as planned tonight, Larix will be too late anyway. Fee will already be named Luna.” My determination to have this settled before the council could intervene was at an all time high. The longer I left this, the more danger she would be in. She was just so fragile, but the moon goddess never fails, there is a reason we were chosen. Already, she completed me, excited and calmed me. She was exactly what I had wanted, needed even, and I would train her. She would grow stronger. She would be a great Luna, we just needed time.

Without so much as a knock before hand, my office door slammed open. My head snapped up to the door and utter lack of respect displayed. Adam almost jumped as he to turned wide eyes spotting Erica in the doorway. “Get Out!” Not bothering to hide my disgust at her presence, I spat the words at her. She had no right, rhyme or reason to be in my office, god she had no reason to even be here within my pack anymore.

Erica’s face darkened before she walked towards my desk slamming her fist into wood. “You are supposed to be with me, it was decided. I am going to be Luna of this pack! The council will..”

I refused to listen to this s**t, standing I gripped Erica tightening my grip as she continued to try and speak. “You will never be my Luna.” I felt my whole body shake, as anger fuelled my every movement.

A smirk appeared on her face as her lips tinted blue”, “I.. wi.. challenge her.” Releasing her neck I threw her into a nearby wall. She needed to learn her place, she would never be my Luna, she would never be my anything. She would never threaten my mate. She struggled, but I knew exactly what she said. She would challenge Fee for position, she would fight her. Fee was weak, she needed protection. If Erica did this, I could not stop her or protect Fee, she would be at Erica’s mercy in a one on one fight.

“You wouldn’t dare!” The words ripped from my throat as a growl escaped me. Claws started elongating from my nails as my control waned. Approaching her position, she rose while bring her hand to her neck rubbing softly. The fire in her eyes didn’t diminish or lower, if anything her determination appeared to grow.

“This is what you need Tristen, this is what your pack needs. A strong Luna who won’t break if you lose your temper. A Luna that can lead and guide your pack. Someone like me, if you really want to keep her, just take her as your mistress on the side.” Taking a step forward, she didn’t cower away or scare as I closed the distance between us. She was completely serious, she wanted me to take Fee, my mate, as a mistress.

With Adam arm resting his hand on my shoulder in warning, I tried to reign in my emotions. Injuring Erica would only cause more issues with the council and give them more power and leverage over my pack. Taking a verbal response over the physical one my wolf wanted to reign down on her. “I would sooner give up my Alpha position, then have any Luna other then my chosen at my side.” Erica’s eyes narrowed, I had never seen her quite like this. She was always forward and a force to be reckoned with, but this, she was threatening and disrespecting my mate without a second thought.

Fuck how was I going to protect Fee, she couldn’t fight. Not yet, she was still to weak, even walking was somewhat of a challenge from what I had witnessed. I had heard she had a strong wolf, but Erica exuded strength. She could take down most the wolves in my pack in a one on one fight, she had trained her whole life for a Luna position. The only way to protect Fee was to get rid of her. Down to my last option. “Erica due to your disrespectful behaviour towards not only me, but my pack as well as future Luna, I hereby formally request your removal from my lands.”
