Chapter 27 – She is my mine

Leaving her in bed, the room filled with the scent of arousal, was almost the hardest thing I had ever done. As I made my way down the stairs all I could think about was her red swollen lips. The way her body trembled under my touch. Fee was wild and unrestrained, but in the bedroom, she had an innocence like no other, everything was new, her sounds raw. She was going to be mine forever. The thought was almost intoxicating, tonight could not come fast enough. My c**k hardened as I continued to my office, adjusting my pants discreetly as possible I tried to keep focus on the issues at hand.

Already having caught Luke’s scent, I opened my office door finding him and Adam deep in conversation on the couch. At my entrance Luke stood with a wide smile spreading across his face. “Congratulations are in order Alpha.” Slightly bowing his head in respect, I moved in front of Luke bringing him in for a hug.

“Welcome home. Sorry to rush this along, but Fee will be coming down soon. Let’s get through everything we need to quickly.”

Taking a more serious expression, Luke sat back down, “yes Alpha.” Looking to Adam, I could see the concern plain as day on his face as he released a sigh leaning back into the chair. Luke’s demeaner hardening he spoke, “Lilly is coming back today… so is Larix. They will be here any minute. The council has given approval for Larix to annul your bonding. Erica is pulling some heavy weight with the council.”

Irritation flowing through me, how dare they even allow something so brutal. Annulling a mate can lead to death, but they were too late, Fee and I were bonded body and soul. Nothing could break our bond now, not even an annulment. Feeling a darkness flare in my chest a low growl escaped me as I took a seat opposite Luke and Adam watching them intently. Nobody threatens harm to my mate, they would die first, Larix and the council, even Erica. If it came to a fight, we would fight.

Opening my mouth I deflected the talk immediately, “It is too late regardless. Fee and I are fully bonded. Not to mention the fact that the pack will no longer accept Erica, not after the challenge she instigated and lost.”

Adams mouth was wide open, his jaw almost dropping to the floor. “You mated her!” Unrest moved through me at his tone. Narrowing my gaze on him, I wanted him squirm uncomfortably in his seat. “I only meant that you do not know her, we do not know anything about her! Where she is from? Her age? And not just physically, but mentally.” Rushing out the words, Adam was quick to bow his head as Luke looked on with wide eyes.

Anger blooming within me, I understood exactly what he was saying. That she was too young, too innocent. He was right, but she was my mate, my responsibility, she was mine! I could feel the change in my vision as my irritation grew with each syllable that left his mouth. Raising his hands in submission, Adam recoiled into the sofa. “I only mean she does not talk much, and she is so tiny, so fragile.” His eyes slightly widening as I caught a glimpse of fear.

Standing, I reached for his shirt gripping tightly to the front of it. My body almost moving on its own to silence him as a light knock sounded on the door. The door opening Fee almost fell into the office stumbling forwards as Bec timidly waited at the door. Everything forgotten, my heart warmed in my chest as I moved to Fee releasing Adam. Claiming her in my arms, I lifted her to my chest as my insides purred with delight.

Making my way back over to the couch with Fee securely in my arms, I caught her sniffing at the air as I would when in wolf form. Once settled on the couch Adam kept his eyes on the floor, only sneaking a glance or two at Fee. He was going to need to watch himself, he may have spent some time with Fee, but she was my mate. Moving from my arms Fee closed the distance between her and the parallel couch holding Luke and Adam. “Luna?” Adam’s voice sounded gently as Luke bowed his head in respect once again.

Leaning forward from the couch, I was resisting the urge to grab and drag her back into my body. Little arms reaching out, Fee grasped Luke’s clothing in her hands, the material bunching under her curling fingers. Frozen in place, Luke appeared to have no clue what to do, “Alpha?” A growl surfacing in my chest, I stood moving forward in an instant to capture my little Flicka. The second my hands met her skin she turned her head, a snarl leaving her lips in response as she bared her white little teeth at me. What the f**k was going on?

Pulling herself closer to Luke, Fee appeared to take in his scent, drawn to his mark. Releasing one of her hands. Visibly Fee started shaking, tremors racking her little body as she raised her hand to Luke’s neck brushing against his mark.

Unable to watch any longer, I ground my teeth together as I ripped Fee away from Luke holding her securely against my body.
