Chapter 21 – Battle of Respect

1037 Words
Alpha Tristen There was not a chance in hell I would sit by if Fee were going to be hurt, no matter the consequences to myself. Erica’s clothes ripped off as her body exploded shifting in an instant. The more you shifted, the faster and less painful it would become. Which is exactly what led me to have more questions surrounding Fee and her past, her upbringing. Snapping me from my thoughts Erica’s brown wolf bared her teeth, snarling at my Fee. Moving to circle Fee, she meant to start the challenge here on the stage. Adam cleared his throat, drawing the packs attention. “Normal rules, submission or until someone is unable to continue will determine the winner. Nobody else may interfere in the challenge.” Taking a quick glance back at me, he jumped from platform. With big hand gestures, he motioned for everyone to move back, “step back.” Clearing a space on the oval I was growing more nervous by the second. Flicka looked strong, stronger than I would ever have imagined possible, but the thought of her getting hurt. My heart could not take it, I could feel my claws sinking into the floor cracking the timber splintering outwards from my paws. Focused of Fee who followed Adam and Erica jumping from the stage with ease they spaced themselves apart on the dirt. The whole pack had their eyes on her, my Fee, she was so beautiful. Her silver wolf a picture of perfection, she was mesmerising. All I wanted to do was run to her side, to nuzzle against her soft fur, goddess… I would submit fully to her will if it made her happy. I would do anything. “Begin”, Adam’s voice carried across the crowd leading to chatter. Sounding my disapproval of the noise I snapped commanding instant silence. Erica resumed her combat position as she circled Fee, hunting for weaknesses, the perfect place and time to attack. Her skill in battle was unmatched among the she wolves, and to be perfectly honest among most of the males as well. She frequently took down wolves bigger and stronger than herself. Right now, as Erica continued assessing Fee, I could feel the malice pouring off her wolf. She was dangerous, she was emotional, this was not like I had seen her in training. Looking on with an uneasy thumping in my chest, I tried to calm, to return to my human body, but I could not. I could not even think straight, all wanted to do was standing in front of and protect my Fee. She did not want my help, she had already warned me not to interfere. More then that she was unimpressed with me, but I would rather that then her hurt or in danger. I wanted to respect her, I wanted to trust that she would be able to take care of herself, but I wanted to take care of her. Watching, I kept my eyes plastered on Fee and Erica as Fee made a sudden movement. Keeping my gaze on her I watched as she just slowly lowered her ass until she sat on the floor. She looked like a giant puppy, seemingly relaxed. Sparing brief glances at Erica, Fee appeared to be waiting for Erica to attack with no regard for her defensive position. In fact she barely appeared bothered by Erica’s presence or her aggressive posturing. I could feel the waves of anger roll off Erica at the blatant lack of respect Fee was demonstrating. It was like she had not a concern in the world. Looking down at her fur and paws she appeared to just be relishing in the body of her wolf. Fee stretched her paws out in front of her. Using this opportunity Erica darted in for a quick swipe of her paw while Fee was facing the opposite direction. With a speed of frightening proportions Fee spun instantaneously ducking out of the path of her razor-sharp claws. Relief washed through me. Appearing to take the fight more seriously, Fee squared up her shoulders focusing her attention on Erica. At least I thought she was taking it seriously. Clearly I did not know Fee or her wolf very well yet, as not a breath later she began to wag her tail like a pup. The sight had my wolf softening, wanting to bark out in response. As a few giggles broken free in the crowd, Erica’s rage rose sharply. Lunging at Fee, she went for her jugular, claws lengthened and up raised. Before I could even register me own movements, I darted forward. An image of Fee’s back filling my mind, the scars flowing the length of her. She must have experienced so much pain, I could not let her endure it again, I had to protect her. I was not going to make it, Erica was too close, too fast, too subdued? Fee’s silver hairs raised off her body once more, her demeaner changed almost as fast as she moved. Darting out of the way she sunk her own claws into Erica’s side earning a whine as her jaw caught onto Erica’s neck. It was like she was disciplining a pup, playing with it during training. Exuding pressure like she had with me, she demanded submission. Erica continued to struggle, refusing and only causing Fee’s claws and teeth to inflict more damage. Adding more pressure with a chesty growl, Fee did not let up. She did not appear to want to wreak devastating pain or harm, she wanted submission. She wanted respect, not only from Erica, but from the pack. Her demeanour and skill were legions ahead of anything I could have imagined, she was a weapon. Which once again only lead me to one question, who was Fee?
