AUTHOR'S POV
"This is something we need to meet and discuss," she said from the other end and he nodded in understanding. He felt happy that she finally agreed to this; more fame and wealth.
He smirked victoriously.
"We can discuss this over lunch tomorrow," he suggested. "Okay, text me the address," she said and hung up.
But what might be her condition? He hated the fact that he felt controlled. There was something intriguing about her that seemed to be drawing him closer. He discarded that thought immediately; she was just the perfect role for the job and nothing more.
Just who the hell did she think she was to set out conditions? The feeling pissed him off and he felt belittled. Any other girl who had accepted this juicy offer without a second thought…
He dressed up, preparing to go to the club as that had become his daily night routine. He grabbed his keys and drove off.
THE NEXT DAY
"What's your condition?" he asked Ava. They were in a restaurant discussing the deal over lunch.
"Before that, how long will this take?" she asked, raising her eyebrows questioningly.
"Just for a short while!!" he replied simply. "Once I get what I want, we can divorce secretly." He explained further.
"And how much are we talking about here??" she asked.
"Name your price!!" he said sharply, and he could see amusement jingling in her eyes. He smirked; women were always after money.
"Back to my condition, as long as we are fakely married, no whores will be allowed into the mansion. I can't stand breathing the same air with them. I hope you aren't the type who smokes and drinks??l" she asked.
"I don't bring in whores to my mansion and if I drink, it's none of your business," he snapped rudely, and she picked up a fork and pointed it to his neck.
"No drinking!!" she warned, and he found himself staring at her unbelievably. His breath hitched, their eyes locked as time seemed to pass by slowly.
She dropped the fork and continued eating like nothing happened.
"I accept the deal," she said and he swallowed, breathing hard.
"Ok then, we have to get straight to work. Remember! My mom has no idea about this! We just have to make her believe that we are soulmates. The faster she believes, the earlier you get your work done," he explained and she nodded, without looking up from her meal. She sat there eating in silence.
"We also need to pay her a visit; there, you will be introduced as my fiancée. But first…” I paused, watching her reaction. “...you need to get dolled up," he said, standing up, inserting his hands into his pockets.
She frowned hard.
"What do you mean!" she asked, her face squeezed in a slight frown.
"You don't want to know how you look.Trust me!! A billionaire's wife needs to be elegant and classy, but you are far from that." he said as he shook his head, staring at her messy bun and the baggy outfits she wore. It seemed she loved baggy outfits because that was the same way she dressed yesterday.
She glared at him in silence, silently accepting defeat. "So let's head to the mall," he said, putting on his sunglasses as he began walking out.
"Dummy!!" she yelled as she began running after him. "Oh!! You can't catch up because of your short legs," he mumbled, and she playfully hit his arm.
"Don't taunt me," she warned with an attractive pout!! Did he just find that attractive?? he thought as he looked away sharply. They got into the car and he drove off to a classy mall. She couldn't help but drool at the interior and exterior decor of the mall.
They went in, and she tried on several dresses and got her hair styled. He took a seat as he phoned his mom.
"What's up, LEVI REYNOLDS?" she asked from the other end.
He shook his head. Does she always have to call out his name in full?
"I will be coming home; I have someone special I want to introduce to you," he informed, and he could tell her eyes sparkled with interest at the news.
"Ok, you will surely be welcomed!" she muttered, and she teased him for a while before hanging up. Typical her!
He was still busy on his phone when he suddenly felt the air around him go still. He felt an breathtaking aura around him, and he could hear gasps from the people around. Confused, he looked up, and when he beheld her ravishing beauty, his breath hitched momentarily.
She had been transformed into an elegant and classy lady. The stunning purple dress she put on was a masterpiece. His pupils dilated when he beheld her sexy curves. She wasn't flat as he claimed; the baggy outfits had only hidden it.
The dress accentuated her curves in the right places. Some dudes around couldn't help but drool at her beauty. He noticed one staring lustfully at her, licking his lip ring, and he glared secretly at him.
"Your wife is stunning," a mall attendant said to him.
"I'm n..."
"Thanks for the compliment," he said, cutting Ava off as she gave him a side glare.
"I'll be in the car," she said, rolling her eyes as all heads turned while she sashayed out. Her aura was indeed stunning!!!
"Whatever!" he muttered silently. He paid and left.
When he got out, he met a dude leaning on his car as he spoke to her, winking nonstop.
Angrily, he walked up to him and pushed him off, almost landing a blow on his face, but Ava held him back, her eyes darting terrifically.
"Calm down...will you?" she yelled.
The guy stood up, smirked, and left. He scoffed and got into the car.
He had no idea why he acted that way. Was it because he was trying to flirt with her or because he was leaning on his car?? Whichever way, it pissed him off.
Slowly, she got in, and without saying a word, he drove off. The tension between them was palpable.
"Make sure to remember this! My mom is cunny and she doesn't get deceived easily. Just be calm and don't be tense," he muttered as soon as they arrived at the family's mansion.
They held hands and walked in elegantly.
Ava couldn't deny the fact that she was nervous, but she could do this, right? She took in a deep breath to calm her nerves. They got into the exquisite living room, and she took a seat, fiddling with her nails.
"LEVI REYNOLDS!!!" a familiar voice rang out from the staircase. Ava looked up, and her gaze met the person she had dreaded meeting again—Racheal. Her eyes widened in utter shock.
Racheal froze as she beheld Ava, her expression mirroring disbelief. Time seemed to stand still as the two women locked eyes, the weight of their shared past hanging heavily between them. Ava's heart thumped erratically, while Racheal's jaw tightened, a mixture of anger, confusion, and old resentment flashing across her features.
Neither spoke. Neither moved. The air in the room thickened, charged with an unspoken tension neither of them could ignore.
