Zephyr's POV
We got outside and this messenger took us on a wild goose chase. I was so tired when I got back that I collapsed in bed and slept off the second my back went down. This deep sleep would have been normal on any day but today, it wasn't because I was almost roasted alive.
My eyes opened just as the fire alarm started screaming. I could barely see in all that smoke. My eyes burned because the smoke wasn't only choking me, it was doing something to me, something I couldn't place at the moment.
