Charlie David (CD) came from a long line of service dogs. His parents were full-blooded German shepherds. His father weighed more than eighty pounds and was almost all black. His mother was smaller, about sixty pounds, light-colored, and medium-sized. They made beautiful puppies, and most of them ended up in some type of law enforcement.
CD was large like his father. He weighed eighty-two pounds. Even being that big, he was fast and powerful. He had a beautiful coat of mixed colors. He had his mother’s light fur, but it was tipped with black. It looked like someone had taken him to a beauty shop and had put the dark tips on. More than once, women had commented to Jen that they wished they could get their hair color to look like that.
