Jen and CD stopped by Zack’s office to check on the progress. He filled her in on what he had been doing so far. He had asked his boss about her consulting and helping. He said he should know by this evening if they were going to bring her on board.
Zack cautioned Jen that finding a way to break up the ring might take a few weeks. They would need to plan and coordinate the takedown to get the largest possible number of people. Paulie would not be safe until then. He had cleared it with his boss to take him to a safe house.
Jen shook her head. “I don’t think he will go. He has lived in his house since he was born. It is a safe place for him, and he doesn’t do well with change. I am going to see him in a little while, but I will run it by him and see what he thinks.”
