The smart watch around her wrist started to buzz as a notification slipped on.
"Aellioah escaped." she read out loud, while Louis cursed under his breath when a bigger panel of the ceiling fell on top of him, forcing his body against hers.
Angelique felt herself grow uncomfortable as she was pinned to the floor in a very unnatural position and his weight wasn't quite a breeze now. Nevertheless, she was more than thankful for his help, because she had no idea how she would have protected herself against all this.
"We need to get out of here!" she reached for his hand to get his attention.
"It's risky!" he hissed under his breath.
"We risk a shitload just by standing here and waiting for the whole building to collapse on top of us!" she insisted.
Louis looked down at her, lips pressed into a thin line before he sighed and his wings pushed off the panel as he slowly got up, pulling her along. "You're not getting away from me, do you understand?" he commented, gripping her forearm tighter, bringing his wings around them as a shield as they started to move together.
After only a few steps, the floor under their feet started to crumble as a giant arm emerged, followed by a loud growl-like sound.
Angelique felt the floor disappear under her feet, and before the rubble swallowed her, Louis gripped her tighter, catching her as he took flight, trying his best to hold her while avoiding the falling debris.
"What the hell is that?!" Angelique yelled, holding on to Louis' hands for dear life.
"Does it matter?!" the man yelled back, barely dodging another piece of debris.
After the murderous hand finally dug itself into the floor, an enormous figure pushed through the massive rupture of the floor, their head stopping right before hitting the next level. The figure seemed to be still crouched and when Angelique dared to look down, she noticed another pair of arms, beside the ones that helped it push through all the damn levels so far.
"Holly s**t!" Luois yelled as the hand that was deeply sunk into the floor, moved upwards to break through the next level. "Is it planning to bring this place to a ruin?!" he hissed as he dodged the arm that nearly missed him.
To the sound of his voice, the figure seemed to stop, turning its head towards them. Now, Angelique could see a human resemblance. The hooded figure had a face hidden underneath, with skin in the deepest shade of purple, that held a strange shine which made it look like it was translucent. Their eyes, four in number, were elongated and there were no pupils. Just simple, plain white eyes you could lose your mind in. Their face had etched sharp white lines that ran from the hair line, over the eyes, all the way down to their jaw, hiding under the thick black armor they wore. The armor itself was just as strange. From under the cape of the hood, you could see spikes poking through, and the material was pitch black, like the endless void of space.
At the sight of the flying pair, the figure narrowed all of its eyes and reached their hand for them.
"s**t, s**t s**t s**t shit...." Luois hissed as he dodged, his grip of Angelique loosening.
Half in shock and the other half completely mesmerized by the strange presence, Angelique slipped her grip of Louis'.
A loud scream erupted from her chest, as the hand that tried to catch them swatted Luois away and right before she hit the ground, another hand caught her, a little harshly, but nevertheless, did not squish her to a paste.
Angelique found herself, lying on her back, completely breathless as the figure stared down at her, with interest. Against the rather soft velvet-like skin, Angelique started to come back to her senses, and before anything else occurred in her head, panic started to take over. Her eyes narrowed and, even before she got up, the scepter was in her hand. She gripped it tight, helping herself up on the unsteady platform of the hand. Suddenly, the figure did not seem as pleased, its eyes narrowing slowly, another growl like sound reverberating through its whole chest, as a warning, but Angelique couldn't care less. She pointed the scepter at the being and hissed a silent warning under her breath.
"Stop this madness or-"
'Or what, little dragon?' Aellioah's voice suddenly echoed through her mind, melting away any other thought.
Her narrowed and angry eyes suddenly rounded as she dropped her stance, looking around in a frenzy she never thought she'd ever feel. But then, when she did not find the platinum-haired man anywhere, she turned to the figure, her lips parting to say something, but swallowing the words immediately.
"Aellioah?" she breathed out in shock, staring at the figure.
This collosal being held no similar feature to that of what she knew Aellioah held. Was this his real form? Was this what an An'ekd looked like? The being looked like it was ripped from ancient mythology, standing at over twenty feet tall and the Gods knew how many feet wide, because those shoulders looked like they could make an entire bridge. The angular shapes of his human-like form were not entirely gone, it still looked like he was chiseled out of stone, but so close, the angles seemed smoother and a bit more human-like than the form he chose earlier.
"What are you doing?!" Anger rose in her chest once again as she narrowed her eyes at him and pointed the scepter towards him again.
she could see clearly that his eyes moved from her to the scepter and he seemed a little bothered by being threatened like that.
'Something interfered with my staying here, so I decided to grab what's mine and leave.' he simply stated, peeling his eyes away from the scepter and looking at her again.
"What are you talking about?" she hissed between her teeth. "There's nothing here that could possibly belong to you!" she spat the words at him, filled with a newfound spite.
The corner of his mouth curled upwards in a very satisfied smile as she did so. 'Oh, how wrong you are!'
To his words, a cold shiver ran down her spine, prickling her skin and forcing her heartbeat to a frenzy again. Was that a threat?
Aellioah's attention turned to the ceiling above him, and before he could crush through it, one of his other hands moved on top of the one holding her, building a small dome around her, trapping her inside. As he moved, Angelique's stability vanished as the impact forced her on her ass. Through all the panic, the scepter vanished and the feeling of dread crashed over her like a strong wave against the cliffs. She could hear her own heartbeat covering the sound of rubble, screams, sirens and the overall mess.
"Where are you taking me?!" she asked, lying back into the warm palm, her eyes closing. "Are you planning to kill me?" she questioned, sighing gently, accepting her fate.
But no answer came at all. No matter how much she wanted him to say something, nothing came out. Just more screams, more chaos.
"Asshole..." Angelqiue whispered, tears streaming down her face.
Aellioah decided to ignore her on purpose. Was there any use in answering her? Would it ease it all for her? Not much. Did it matter? Not at all, because she had no choice in all this. Besides, why waste any time when there was enough time left as soon as he took care of it all.
With not much effort, he found the fragments on one of the higher levels of the facility. One of his hand extended to grab them out of the protective field, and as soon as they were in his hand, they were absorbed immediately, giving his white eyes and the white lines on his face an iridescent glow.
Angelique could feel the buzz of energy through his skin. It felt like a static energy that buzzed and pulsed under the strangely soft skin, giving it a different temperature.
"You got what you wanted!" she hit her fist against him. "Put me down and get your ass off this planet!" she yelled as she tried to open his fingers and get out, a newfound courage pulsing through her as well.
'I told you, you're coming with me as soon as i leave this planet.' Aellioah commented, a little unbothered by her antics.
But as soon as he finished his words, he felt a sharp stab in the middle of his palm. He pulled his other hand away only to reveal a large glowing hole in the middle of his palm that had already started to heal. He moved it away, displeased, watching as Angelique rolled on the ground, holding the scepter and trying to get up and making a run for it.
Another loud growl echoed through the whole facility as Aellioah's anger got the best of him. In the harmed hand, a massive sword materialized, and he scraped the whole floor with it, stopping Angelique with a huge pile of debris and rubble.
With agility, she ducked the flying debris and covered her head with her arms from most of the tinier parts. coughing, she came face to face with a blocked corridor that was sunk in darkness and piles of trash everywhere.
"You cunt!" she yelled, turning around, hoping to find the massive figure and give him the finger. But instead, she found a very well-known Aellioah, walking towards her. His eyes were back to that mesmerizing violet, his hair resting on his shoulder, his violet cape trailing behind him as his white leathery armor moved with ease, offering him enough agility to avoid the pieces of wall and whatnot on the ground.
His eyes were narrowed on her figure, and there was a spark of madness in them. The spark of a predator that has just got their prey cornered and unable to escape.
"Don't you dare..." Angelique hissed, aiming her scepter at him again.
"Need to admit, I didn't think you'd be able to finally use it against me." he smirked.
"Don't force me to use it again!" she threatened, voice shaky.
This time, his laughter filled the ruins of the facility as he opened his arms for her to even try.
"I hardly doubt you'll hurt me!" he added, stopping just a few feet away from her.
"Try me, ass!" she hissed and focused her energy on the scepter, aiming it at him.
Aellioah could feel the sudden shift of power that filled her and he knew he had to do something. Fighting her was not an option now.
"Angelique!" A raspy voice was heard screaming from behind the alien.
Works for me!
Without a warning, Aellioah jumped forward, disarming her, wrapping his arms around her, and before she could fight him off, his cape wrapped around the two of them, vanishing from under Louis' eyes without another word.
