You did WHAT?

Matthew's POV: I rubbed the back of my head, sighing in pain. I just got back from work and Madison was not happy with what I told her. Flashback; I was almost done my shift. Being a barista for Starbucks proved to be extremely difficult. Just as I finished the order I was working on, a beautiful young girl walked in, followed by another guy. She appeared to be whining to him about something. "Grande double chocolaty chip frappuccino, grande vanilla bean frappuccino, a birthday cake Cakepop, and a chocolate cakepop for Kristie." As that Kristie grabbed her stuff, thanking me, The mysterious girl and guy walked over. I quickly moved to the register. Seeing as I was the only one who was working at the moment, I wasn't worried about someone else taking their orders. As the 2 of then got closer, I noticed a delicious smell. I realized that the girl had the smell of grass and cinnamon. The scent soon became overpowering, and I knew that I would embarrass myself if I didn't find a distraction that would at least let me breathe. The blenders. "Just a moment and I'll be right with you." Both of them nodded. I moved toward the back counter, quickly rinsing the blender jars. I placed the jars infront of the bases before walking to the register. "Hi, welcome to Starbucks. My name's Matt what can I get started for you?" They both began to look up at the menu. The girl turned to the display case before turning back to face the guy. "Jo, can I get a cakepop?" "Lexi, no. You need to cut down on sweets, seriously. You just ate a whole bag of m&ms." She just pouted, clearly not bothered by what he said. "I want the caramel ribbon crunch with extra whipped cream and a birthday cake cakepop." The guy gave her a warning look, but she seemed oblivious to him. "Lexi, no. Please don't give her the extra whipped cream or the cakepop. Also, add almond milk to her drink, she's lactose intolerant. I'll take a matcha frappuccino with almond milk and whipped cream. Can we also get the pumpkin spice latte without whipped cream and an extra shot of expresso, a caramel macchiato with an extra shot of expresso, and a honey almond flat white with two extra shots of expresso." I nod, adding those to the order. There's something peculiar about this girl, but I just can't put my finger on it. "Oh come on Jo. We do this every time. Please?" She looked at him with the puppy eyes, and eventually I made a decision. "Don't worry about it. I'll give you the cakepop, on the house. Will that be all?" The guy shook his head, pulling out his wallet. "Yeah, that's it." "Alright, your total is $31.97, will you be paying cash or credit?" "Debit." I nod, motioning for him to tap his card on the reader. "Alright. What name am I putting on the order?" "Jordan. May I have a receipt?" I hand him his receipt, writing his name on the cups for his order "Aye Matt, when do you get off?" I glance up to see Kaleb, one of my colleagues and friends, walking into the Cafe. "In like 10 minutes. Why? Are you starting now?" Jordan was watching me intensely. "Yeah, apparently I start right when you finish. Is there anyone else who's supposed to be in today?" I shrugged, having worked alone my entire shift. "Don't worry, I won't hold you back. I know your sister will go crazy if your not home for dinner." I roll my eyes at him, moving on to continue working. "You know what, I'll come join you. At least you won't be working alone for the end." He put on his apron and joined me, getting started on the hot drinks. I rang up my order, making sure I got my sister something as well. I quickly made my order, going into the back room to put my uniform away and grab my stuff. "Alright, I'm off man. I'll see you tomorrow. " Kaleb waved as he started taking the order of the next customer. As I step outside, Lexi and Jordan came running to me. "Hey, Matthew was it? Want a ride?" I looked at them before pulling out my phone to check the time. "Sure, I guess." Lexi squealed. Before she could drag me, Jordan grabbed her hand. "He's got some drinks. I don't think it's a d good idea to drag him." They both ushered me into a vehicle, grabbing the drinks from my hands. Jordan hopped in the front, and I sat in the middle with Lexi. "So, tell us about yourself." So that's what I did, only thing, I may or may not have said to much. "Hey, mind if we stayed for dinner?" That made me shut up. They all turned to look at me. "Um, I'd have to ask my sister." Jordan nodded, signaling me to call her. "Can you put it on speaker? I'd like to hear her answer." I, still in shock, reluctantly agree. As soon as she answered, I started as I normally did. "Hello?" "Hey Mads, I'm on my way home right now. I got your favorite drink with me." "Thanks Matt, how far are you?" "Um, I'll be home soon. Oh, before I forget. Um, we are having some guests over for dinner of that's alright..." I heard something fall as the doorbell rang. "Mads?" "Just a second." Shuffling, shuffling, hushed speaking. "OH! Okay, thank you so much." "No worries. Have a good day!" "You too!" More shuffling "Mads? Who was at the door?" Broken glass being moved. "Sorry, it was the neighbor. She brought me our mail." "What's that glass noise?" Silence. "Mads?" More silence. "Sorry, just threw out a plate I dropped." "Oh my god, I thought you died for a second." "Anyways, how many extra people am I cooking for?" "Um, 5." "Okay. I can still make what I was gonna make. Dessert?" "Um, pumpkin pie?" There was a long pause, and you could hear that she was looking for something. "Ouch. Oh, found it. Okay, let me know when you get here." "Okay bye!" End of flashback; "Mads..." I immediately shut my mouth. If anything, her glare was the kind of look that could make anyone feel cold. "Why would you even consider speaking? You've just put our safety at risk." She has a point. Even though we had guests in the living room, she still managed to lecture me. "Hey, is dinner ready?" We both glanced over at the door to see Lexi standing there. "Yeah, did you want to bring everyone into the dining room?" Lexi agreed, turning to go get everyone. Madison turned to me. "This conversation is not over yet. I'll deal with you later." After saying that, she carried the last dish to the table. I hurried after her, taking a seat next to Lexi. Madison served everyone before sitting down and we began to eat
