“Oh sure,” I said with no energy. “Mom, I know you tired. Let’s talk some other time. I promise I’ll bring her here. Hooroo.” I smiled and show her out.
After shoving my mom out. Who doesn’t wanna retire for the day? I went directly to my laptop that is sitting on the left corner of the room, just beside my lampshade.
I sent an email for a board meeting. So I can brush through the last things we have to set up for the upcoming show. This will be a closed-door meeting, of course, it will be filled with my clan, as most of the shareholders are my family member.
The meeting is not just for the upcoming show, but also for the next council meeting. I will do everything in my power so I won’t be pair with anyone, not yet. I have my own will, and that is to marry Esmeralda, and I won’t allow the council to ruin what I worked for, for years.
I send a text message to Esmeralda, asking her for a meeting outside the office. I have to break things to her little by little, so she won’t be shocked once I tell her everything.
++++++++++++++FLASH BACK++++++++++++++++
“Hey mate.” Andrew taps me on my back as he shows me a magazine of cars. Andrew is one of the closest guys to me in school. We both have a great interest in cars.
I was looking at the magazine, transfixed to it that I didn’t saw the incoming bicycle. I was hit by a bike. But I felt no pain, though the bike and the girl driving it falls down.
The girl stands up and hits me on my face.
“Hey flower what’s with you?” Andrew asks, he grabs her hand to stop her from hitting him.
“Look what you’ve done, and you got the nerve to ask me what’s up with me? My ride is broken.” She glared at me while saying this.
“Wait, first this is not a bicycle lane, second, you’re the one who hits me,” I said in a matter-of-fact tone.
“If you’re looking at where you are heading to, then you should have seen me!” She almost shouts as she says this. Her height and the expression on her face made me smile. She does look stunningly cute.
“What are you smiling at? Is it fun to cause an accident to others? Are you mocking me?” She continues to bubble.
I immediately get my phone and took a picture of her. With that, she tries to grab my phone, but I’m way faster.
“Don’t worry I’ll show this to my mom, and let her pay for the damage. What’s your name?” I asked.
“Esmeralda, look for me in room 108. I’ll wait for the payment. Now, what’s your name? So I know how to look for you if you dare to run away.”
“Taylor Garner, of room 114.” I offer my hand, but she picks up her bike and leaves.
She’s a little limp, and the handle of her bike broke.
“Andrew, can you go first? I’ll be fixing this matey.” I said while I point a finger at the girl name Esmeralda.
I get my phone and call my driver who is patiently waiting for me outside the school.
As I get nearer our Sedan, I can see Jayson trying to tie the bike on the back of the car.
I signal him to put it down.
“Yes, master” He bowed as he mouths these words.
They both hop in the car, he sat beside the driver's seat, while Esmeralda is sitting on the back sit comfortably.
“Let’s go to the university hospital first,” I said to Jayson, he slowly maneuvers the car, and head straight to the emergency. Esme is not talking; she’s not even looking at me. I can hear her heartbeat dancing, and it makes me feel crazy. Something about her make me want to draw myself near her.
“Jayson please accompany her inside,” I said to Jayson. “And what’s your name again?” Pretending to forget it, “Oh, Esme, here’s my number, do text me your home address please.” I smiled, a smile I know can capture the ladies' heart. But alas;
“Why would I give my address to a stranger? Let alone someone who bumps into me without having the decency of saying sorry?” she said with an eyebrow raise.
God knows how I try very hard not to smile, as this little girl tries to show her “I’m stronger than you.” side.
“Please spare me, I need your address to send the replacement bicycle, in case you haven’t notice, but the grip of your bike is broken, and the rim is misaligned,” I said as I handed again her the paper with my number.
Jayson opens the car and helps her get into a wheelchair, brought by an attendant who waited for us.
“Please send me her bill, in case she will have to stay here for longer than 24 hours call me,” I said to the attendant who stares at my calling card longer than he should be.
I smiled at him, and show a shhh! sign using my finger.
