XXVBethan made her way down to the library in the hope of finding Alec there. She’d looked in his usual haunts, but he was nowhere to be found. As she stood at the door, her thoughts rushed back to her previous experience, and for a moment her resolve faltered. After a few deep breaths and a good talking to herself, Bethan grasped the handle firmly and swung the door open. After checking all the stacks and the room at the end, she sighed and turned to go back to her office. As she did, something caught her eye.
