Bethan ducked her head down to get a better look, her head bobbing from side to side as bushes and trees blocked her view. Suddenly, she heard a terrific noise: the blare of a car horn. She switched her gaze back to the road and the oncoming car. Bethan came to an abrupt halt, two wheels up on the verge as the other vehicle, it’s horn still blaring in angry indignation, speed past. She sat back in her seat and regained her composure, and then slowly reversed the car off the verge and settled it on the road. She looked over to the mound and could see the figure climbing it. Starting the car, Bethan drove a few metres along to the layby where she parked up, swapped the heels for some Converse that she kept in the car for emergencies, and made her way over the style and towards the mound.
