This wasn’t the hallway. This wasn’t the school. This wasn’t even the same world.  Until a moment ago, she was running up the stairs, alongside Rain. She realised it long ago, but she wasn’t sure Rain did too. Certainly didn’t seem like it from the way Rain was rushing toward the open roof, out of the crushingly dark hallways and stairs. Rain was so consumed by the idea. Made it impossible to realise how there were far too many stairs. They were running and running, and the stairs never ended. They were caught in a spell.  And then, O’Rain just stopped. She was careless. She was distracted, staring at Rain. Was completely blind to the barrier at the middle of the flight of stairs. Sure, it was dark, perfectly blending into the darkness. Completely invisible. But still wouldn’t have foole
