Chapter 12

2332 Words
“What on earth are you doing?” I turn my head from my spot at the corner of the wall to see Daniel standing there, judging me hard. “Do you even want to know how stupid you look right now?” he stands a few steps behind me, one eyebrow raised and his arms securely crossed over his chest. I just lean my front against the wall again, peaking around the corner so my focus could go back to Ethan. “And you care since when?” I quickly throw back, momentarily glancing back at Daniel. “I don’t, I just really wanted to tell you that you looked stupid”, he stupidly grinned at me before walking past and into the crowd of drunks. Whatever asshole… I turn back to Ethan to see him still talking with Rachel, a good friend of Sophia’s. She had asked Rachel to keep Ethan busy so Sarah could attempt to steal Ethan’s phone. That is if there hadn’t come a reply in the following ten minutes. Come on Ethan, just send a freaking text back. Ever since we arrived at the party, the texts had gone quiet again. Not before telling me to be ready for a dare tonight though…     But for f***s sake, why is this person making it so hard. He said it himself, he wanted me to find him… A hard slap on my ass immediately directed my attention away from Ethan. I swiftly turn around to see Alexander standing right behind me, clearly drunk. Great… “What the f**k dude”, I say and push my back completely against the wall, putting as much distance in between us as possible. Can’t people just leave me alone for a bit. “You wanna go upstairs?” he asked as he his eyes were everywhere on me, except for with me eyes. No thanks “I don’t think so”, I glare at him but he just continues to step forward, trapping me against the wall. “You want me to f**k you against the wall then? All okay with me, I’d love to see what you’ve been hiding under all that clothing”, he whispers next to my ear as I desperately try to push him away. One more warning and then it’s a kick in the balls dude… “Let me go Alexander”, I warn him. “Can I take you out on a date then?” he surprises me but still keeps me against the wall. “What, why?” “Because I would love to take you out”, he tells me, twirling some of my hair around his finger as his face stays only inches away from mine. So first he wants to f**k me and now he wants to go out. Male logic? “Since when do you do dates?” I give him a questioning look. “I don’t but for you I could make an exception”, he said but it didn’t feel pushy. That’s a first. I went to answer but he was roughly plucked off of me and thrown to the floor. “Adam?” I half yell as Adam pins Alexander down and punches him right in the face. This was so not the plan. “Don’t you f*****g touch her”, Adam spit in his face. “Adam, STOP”, I yell at him but he just continues to throw more punches. When Alexander recovered from the shock, he threw Adam off of him and now the two are basically dragging each other across the floor. What the f**k do I do? “Guys, stop”, I try again but nothing. I mean I could try to step in between them but what good would that do… “HEY, break it up”, Liam appears in the hallway with James, immediately pulling the two apart. “What the f**k Adam?” Liam turned to his friend, but Adam’s eyes stay on Alexander. “You stay the f**k away from Ella”, Adam yelled at Alexander and Liam’s eyes immediately searched for me, letting out a sigh when I gave him a small smile. “Allright, why don’t you go take some air”, Liam stepped in front of Adam, blocking his view from Alexander. “Fine”, Adam stepped back and glared one last time at Alexander who stepped away as well.   “Are you okay?”, Liam almost ran over to me, concern written all over him, again. “I’m fine, thanks”, I give him a smile. “I’m gonna check on Adam, but I’ll see you later okay?”, he asked and I nodded. He looked at me for a few more seconds before hesitantly going in the direction Adam just disappeared in. “You really okay?” I finally looked around to see a few people had gathered in the hallway, Sarah standing there as well. “Do you have the phone?” I asked her as she walked over to me, completely setting aside what just happened. “No, he walked off when the commotion here started to go down”, Sarah answered and I let out a big breath. “So what do we do now?” “Relax, the night’s still young. Let’s just get some drinks and enjoy ourselves for now?” Sarah said and dragged me to the kitchen, where all sorts of alcohol bottles were spread across the counters.   Sarah was busy making our drinks so I just sat on one of the counters and took my phone out to see where Sophia had gone. I unlocked it and saw I had an unread text, but not from Sophia.   -You didn’t get hurt just now, right?- unknown So he saw that…   -Nope, I’m allright-   -That was quite the show tho- unknown No s**t Sherlock.   -So are you still gonna give me a dare or what?-   -So impatient, Clark. But okay, I’ll give you your dare  - unknown I read the text and could already feel myself grow nervous. What is he gonna make me do now…   -I want you to give your bra to the person you don’t really suspect of being me… And you can’t ask it back tonight – unknown Is he kidding me? That’s super embarrassing. Sarah silently handed me a cup of alcohol and I immediately downed it.   -Are you for real?- I replied, Sarah now reading the messages with me.   -Jup, it would be hilarious if you gave it to me. Means I’m winning…- unknown   -You’re not winning s**t, just wait and see…-   “You want to go look for Sophia first or are we surprising someone with a bra right now?”, Sarah asked, trying to hide a stupid smile and I just shook my head in response, already dreading what I had to do.   “You know what, f**k it”, I let out a big breath and took a few gulps from a random bottle of liquor in the kitchen. Was that smart? Nope, not at all.   -You better be watching cause I’m not doing this a second time-   -I’m always watching princess- unknown Okay, let’s get this over with. I quickly put my phone in my pocket and unclipped my bra, sliding the straps of my arms under the shirt I was wearing. “Oh my god, you’re really doing this”, Sarah stared at me with an amused expression as I pulled the bra out from under the shirt. “Let’s go“, I said with a blank expression, walking out of the kitchen. Do I know who I’ll give it to? No. So I’ll give it to the first suspect I find before I lose my bravery.   I started walking around the living room, a giggling Sarah behind me, as my focus stayed on finding one of the guys. My eyes just lazily scanned over the people I past until I found one of them. “What?” he asked when I stopped right in front of him. I handed him the bra, which he hesitantly took, and he looked at me like I had officially lost it. “What I’m I supposed to do with this?” Jason asked in a serious tone but I could see he was trying hard to hide a smile. “I don’t know, wear it?” my drunk ass commented and a laugh escaped his lips before he shook his head. “And you’re even crazier then I thought”, he whispered to himself before taking a big gulp from his drink. “It’s totally your color, Jason”, Sarah joked. “Yeah, whatever Miller”, Jason spoke, holding my bra in front of him. “I have to agree. You look fabulous with that color” I chuckled and for the first time I didn’t receive a snarl or anything of the sort. It was quite refreshing. “Well, I really appreciate that”, he nodded gratefully and the three of us started laughing again. “I think that was long enough”, Sarah grabbed the bra from Jason and handed it back to me. What is she doing? “Technology you didn’t take it back, I did”, she whispered to me and I just hoped that it would count. Either way, I’m grateful. “I don’t get to keep it?” Jason looked at me, pouting his lip slightly but his eyes didn’t fool me. He was clearly mocking me. “i***t”, Sarah mumbled, laughing at her friend. “Sorry, should have hold on to it while you had it” I told him and tried to put the bra back on underneath my shirt. “That’s unfortunate”, he told us but my focus went behind him as we saw Sophia running our way. “I bet that took a lot of bravery”, Jason mocked me again as Sophia drunkenly threw her arm around Sarah. “Nah, it was allright” Lie lie lie. “Oh really, prove it then”, he challenged me. “Fine what do you want me to do?” I asked him confidently. “Sarah, got any suggestions?” he turned to Sarah who immediately started grinning. No, no she wouldn’t. The look on her face told me she most definitely will. “Why don’t you go say hi to Liam?” Sarah said but I narrowed my eyes at her. Don’t go there... “And why don’t you make out while you’re at it”, Sophia added. There it is, thanks a lot friends… “She wouldn’t, she doesn’t have to guts to kiss mister popular”, Jason laughed at me. People really need to realise that drives me crazy. Don’t tell me what I can or can’t do because I’ll f*****g show you. Plus I’m pretty drunk so I honestly couldn’t care less right now. Well, sorta. “There he is”, Sarah mused and I turned to my left to see him standing with James. Am I really going to do this? I turned to Jason and the way he looked at me just made me decide. “Fine”, I said and turned to Liam, not even waiting for a reply.   I just turned my mind of and went for it, stepping up and pressing my lips against his. No going back now. I few seconds passed and I realised he was kissing me back. f*****g Liam Marshall is kissing me back. I felt his arms slowly snake up and rest on my waist. I was really thankful for that since my drunk ass could barely manage to stand straight anyway. My hands went to his hair but someone next to us cleared their throat, taking away my attention. “Wow”, I pulled back and looked to my side to see Ashley staring at me but what surprised me is that literally almost everyone was looking at us. Abort mission, get the f**k out. “That was unexpected”, Liam drew my attention back as he looked at me, a light blush on his cheeks. Yeah, what do you say to that? “Like you haven’t been waiting for that since the first day of school”, James looked at his friend, clearly amused with my sudden move. This is hella awkward… “Yup, see you later”, I blurted out and bolted back to the others. Shit. That’s all I can say, s**t. “Where’s Jason?” I asked when I arrived, ignoring all the stares. “Jason left. He said, and I quote, I don’t feel the need to watch her exchange spit with Liam”, Sarah explained. “We on the other hand, quite enjoyed it”, Sophia said and I just shook my head at that. “I think most people did”, Blake told Sophia as she walked up to us and went to stand next to Sarah. “I got it”, Blake said and handed Sarah a phone. Ethan’s phone. I raised my eyebrow at her and she explained. “I asked Blake to steal it. She’s better at that anyway”. Nice, now let’s see. “I’m going to the kitchen. Make sure he doesn’t walk in when I’m busy with his phone”, I asked them and they both nodded. I made my way to the kitchen, siting down on one of the counters. No password? Who doesn’t have a password on his phone. Oh well, makes it easier for me. I opened his messages and started looking through the contacts and their last text that showed. His mother, William, Oliver, Matthew… What grabbed my attention was the last text with Matthew: ‘Just don’t tell her, I’m not ready for that’. Gotcha fucker.   “So you stole my phone?”, I looked up and saw Ethan standing in the doorway. Busted… Thanks girls. What the f**k do I do? Just focus on the mission. Let him know you know. “Cut the crap Ethan, I know it’s you”, I push myself of the counter and put on a serious face. We’re doing this right here, right now. “What?” he looked at me, his eyebrows scrunched together. Oh come on, drop the act Ethan… “The texts”, I looked at him like it was the most obvious thing in the world but the frown stayed on his face. He’s is either really good at acting or I got this really REALLY wrong. “What on earth are you talking about?” I swear to God, if I got this wrong I want the ground to swallow me whole. “The love letter, the text and you watching me from a distance”, I explained but I could feel my confidence already strongly slipping. I showed him the text on my phone and he started laughing before looking back up at me. “This person is interested in you”, he said as if explaining to me. “Well, are you?” I asked him. “God, no”, he answered almost instantly making it sound like being in love with me is a bad thing. I didn’t say anything and I’m pretty sure he caught my thoughts from my expression. “I just see you as a friend, Ella. I like guys”
