The room was dim and heavy with the sad smell of air that hadn't been refreshed and sheets that hadn't been cleaned. The curtains were only partly open, trying to block out the brightness of the world and making the room look slightly bluish. There were empty containers of food and crumpled tissues scattered on the floor. In the middle of the room, under a messy blanket, Blaine lay almost lifeless.
