On his way home, Adonis couldn't stop himself from feeling worried. He kept calling Delaney, but he still got no response from her. He felt uneasy. His sleek car pulled up to the entrance of Delaney's lavish residence, a modern structure with expansive, sweeping windows that contrasted the aged oaks and well-manicured gardens surrounding it. As soon as the car came to a stop in the large compound, he was greeted by the security personnel whom he had kept to mount the gate - a broad-shouldered man named Jared.
