Aurora glanced at her watch again, it was 4:46pm, exactly one hour and forty six minutes from the time Brown was supposed to pick her up, her car had broke down earlier today and he assured her , he will be at her office by 3:00pm to pick her up. Aurora wasn’t surprised he forgot, what surprised her more that she was expecting he would actually remember her, it was always in Brown’s nature to forget the things that concerns her, this is how it has always been in the past nine years of their relationship. She was always affected by it but learnt how to live with it, after all he loved her and that’s all that matters. The giant ringer on her finger proves that. She brought out her phone to call him again but he didn’t respond to it, tired of waiting for her man who will not show up. She booked a taxi to take her to his place. Brown was sitting in his sitting room playing video games when Brian walked in, they exchanged greetings and Brian grabbed the pad beside Brown to join him in his game. "Where’s Aurora?” Brian asked. "She’s not here” Brown answered nonchalantly. "She must have gone home then” Brian continued. "She was never here” Brown replied. "Weird that you dropped her off at home, I thought she was spending the night with you, did you guys fight or something?” Brain inquired and this time Brown remained silent, Brian turned to look at Brown and suddenly realized that Brown hadn’t gone to pick Aurora up. "No dude! Don’t tell me you forgot again?” Brain asked annoyed. "I’m sorry , I was busy” brown defended himself. "Playing video games? It’s 5pm man, Aurora closed at 3pm. That’s two whole hours “ Brian continued fed with Brown’s excuses. Brown stood up to leave and Brian followed him then the door opened and it was Aurora. The two men stopped walking immediately and Aurora’s gaze was fixed on them. "I’m so sorry babe, it wasn’t intentional. Brian got sick and I had to take care of him” Brown lied and Brian looked to him confused, Aurora continued staring at the both of them. She knew Brown was lying but she has learnt not to get angry at such situations anymore. "I got you guys pizza , maybe that will help Brian start feeling better “ Aurora handed the pizza to them and went upstairs to refresh herself. Brian and Brown waited till she was up completely before getting in an argument. "Don’t ever that with me again “ Brian warned. "Chill man! It was only a white lie” Brown retorted clearly not remorseful about lying. "White or purple lies, I don’t care. Just don’t use me to lie to Aurora next time” Brian warned again. "I’m going to the kitchen to microwave this , join me if you want “ Brown said raising the pizza. Brian remained in the sitting room and finally relaxed into a sofa. He wondered on how long Brown would choose to remain this way especially now that he’s about to start a family with Aurora. Aurora came downstairs after an hour to make dinner. "Hi babe “ Brown greeted upon sighting her, "about to make dinner?” He asked and she replied yes. "Please make some stir fry pasta, I wouldn’t mind having that” he requested. "Do you want to join me so we could make it together?” Aurora asked hoping this would give them time to bond. Although they see often, they spent limited time together, she’s either working, preparing a design or pitch or he’s busy doing whatever keeps Brown busy. "No babe, you know that’s not my thing and besides I’m watching a game” Brown replied pointing at the television and Aurora left disappointed. Brian left Brown in the sitting room to join Aurora in the kitchen. She was busy grilling the chicken when he got in. "Need any help?” Brian asked politely. "None a sick person can offer “ Aurora replied with a smirk. "About that. I’m sorry” Brian apologized. "Sorry that you aided in a lie or sorry that Brown stood me up again?” Aurora asked as she gave Brian some chicken wings. "I’m sorry about both" Brian said, "hmmm, this taste really good. If you weren’t so good at advertising, I would have asked you to quit and open a restaurant “ Brian said savoring the taste of the delicious wing in his mouth. "You know you don’t have to flatter me all the time “ Aurora replied smiling. "I’m only being truthful” Brian replied. "Perhaps you can teach your friend some of that” Aurora said and they both laughed. With Brian’s help, she was able to finish making their dinner earlier than she expected, setting the table and inviting Brown to eat. He devoured his meal without showing any gratitude or appreciation, left his empty plate on the table and returned to the sitting room. Aurora didn’t want to complain about his attitude especially since Brian is with them, Brian helped her clean up and do the dishes. He announced his departure when they were done and Aurora saw him off before going upstairs to complete her design which she was working on earlier in the day. She was already in bed when Brown came up demanding s*x, this wasn’t the kind of bonding she wanted with him but she was willing to take whatever she got. Surrendered to his demands, they both had s*x that night, another ordeal that Aurora didn’t enjoy and she wondered how long she would fake her moans and orgasm. Staring at Brown who was already fast asleep, she decided it’s best if she slept too.
