Erica's POV
It’s been almost a week since Jerry came back. I was supposed to find Adrian almost 5 days ago but I got nothing. I’ve been trying to find Adrian but there’s nothing. It’s like he just fell off the face of the earth.
He just disappeared.
All of my leads have gone cold.
I’ve contacted almost all of my to go informants.
Almost.
Should I call him?
No.
No.
I haven’t talked to him since Jake died.
No.
Let me just push that thought to the back of my head.
Okay.
So I’ve had a couple of missions since then. Nothing big, just a couple of drug dealers, you know lowlifes.
Where would the most feared gangleader in the United States hide?
His house?
No. Checked that. No one was there must’ve been a cover or something, but just in case I hid a couple of cameras and motion detectors in the apartment.
He must have a gang house or something like that. There’s no record of anything of the sorts.
They must’ve done a funeral for that one guy. I looked into him and turns out his name was Seth. He had been Adrian’s bodyguard since Adrian was a baby. He was his bodyguard for almost twenty-eight years.
Damn.
He was sixteen when he started.
That’s one hell of a guy.
I kinda feel bad for killing him.
Kinda.
Not quite there yet. :)
Maybe I should check for any recent funerals in Seth’s name.
A few minutes later...
Okay. Soooo there was nothing. I even checked for guys that looked like him. Big guy, brown hair, trimmed beard, bit of a mustache. And guess what?
Nothing!
An alarm went off on my computer.
The motion detector detected someone in Adrian’s ‘apartment’.
It was a man.
He turned around.
Holy s**t.
It was Grayson.
What the hell is he doing there? What does he want?
He raised his arm. He was holding something up. It looked like a piece of paper.
I zoomed into the object in his hand.
It was a piece of paper, and on it was written.
Meet me at the Lava Java cafe at 10:00am tomorrow. I just wanna talk.
Why does he want to talk to me? Should I go? Also more importantly what if it’s a trap?
After showing the piece of paper to the camera, well me he left. Maybe he’s nearby the building.
I decided to go check just in case. I got in my car, it’s a White XLT Expedition. (Or whatever your favorite car is.)
I arrive outside the building. I don’t see any cars outside, but just in case there’s anyone in there I get out of the car and go inside. I jog up the stairs to the fourth floor, room four hundred and twelve. I go to open the door but it’s already cracked open. I grab my gun from my thigh holster, and hold it in front of me.
I slowly open the door, check my surroundings. There’s no one in the kitchen, living room or bathroom. Last to check is the bedroom. I enter the room and there is nobody in sight, but there was a rose in the middle of the bed.

Thirds person's POV
Erica entered inside the little apartment she and Grayson shared. She turned the lights on. She walked over to the refrigerator and grabbed a piece of cheesecake to eat. She thought she deserved it after that extreme workout she had at the gym. She looked at the refrigerator door there was a sticky note.
I had to leave. I’ll be back tomorrow morning,
Love you. +
He always left a little mark when he had something for her. She headed to the bedroom and smiled when she saw a rose on the bed. He always did that as a way to say ‘I love you’. She did the same, but instead she would trace a heart on Grayson’s palm with her finger.
She picked up the rose and held it to her chest.
'I love you Gray.'
