Antidote

Alice POV "Melanie" Kayla yells and walks past us, pushing us lightly, to hug the girl without words when she saw us. Melanie! I love her! She will help us! Thea returns from the end of my mind and tells me excitedly. The two engaged in an emotional embrace. Butterflies started to appear and wrapped around them both. Small flowers began to emerge in a small bright aura that surrounded them. Now it was my turn to gawk. She is a fae. When she is happy, flowers and butterflies appear from nowhere, when she is mad, all nature turns into some chaos. Thea explains to me what I´m seeing. "Do you guys know each other?" Jacob asked, confused by the scene in front of us. The two pulled away from each other and smiled at us. "Yes, Kayla's foster mother mentored me for a few years. Our childhood was spent together!" The girl smiled happily and looked back at Kayla with so much emotion in her eyes. "What are you doing here?" Asks Kayla, still composing herself. "I already missed these butterflies and these flowers!" She confesses, letting one of the butterflies land on her hand and checking it with curiosity. "Kayla, that's a story for another time. I hope I´ll get the chance to do it, now that we meet again!" Melanie says as she touches her hair. Her hair is long and has some curls at the ends. I've never seen hair as beautiful as hers. Her aura is contagious, conveying comfort and relaxation. "Jacob said he had to help two young she-wolves. He said something about switching wolves?" Melanie asked in curiosity. But she soon realizes who the two young women are because there are only two she-wolves in the room, only Kayla and I are here. "Kayla?" Her expression was one of disbelief. Kayla nodded with sadness in her. I repeated the whole story to Melanie. "Leon, the Serious One! I figured you were mates!" Melanie still hadn't finished her sentence and there was already a growl startling us. Lucas! He is not that serious. He was raised to be the King. He has to be serious. Thea defends Leon. "Oh sorry!" Melanie apologized to Lucas sincerely. Her gaze held some remorse. "I'm Lucas, Jacob's brother. I apologize for my behavior!" An Alpha apologized! This is another surprise. My father would rather die than apologise to someone for his mistakes. Seeing Lucas in a humble position, despite his powerful rank and alpha wolf, was something unbelievable. "Can you help us?" Lucas almost begged. "From what I heard from the story, they were both at Natalie's house. I'm guessing she was the one who cast the spell. Or else, she was trying to reverse it. If it was the former, maybe I would feel it when touching you both. Natalie's magic has something that will make me recognize it. If it wasn't Natalie, then it would be harder, unless it was another mentor of mine." Melanie starts to explain and closes her eyes. Suddenly, her violet dress turns black, as do the gray strands of her hair, which also turn black. Melanie gives Kayla one of her hands and reaches for mine with another hand, holding it. I feel the energy radiating from me to her. Melanie's head moves back slightly and her nose twitches. She drops our hands in a calm movement, opens her eyes, and regains her normal posture. "There was magic involved. As it has been a short time since the spell, I can still feel it circulating. Your wolves are still weak, but they will gain their strength in the coming days." The little witch sighs deeply. "Kayla, do you know why Natalie did this? She would never hurt you!" Natalie the witch was the performer of such a harmful act. Why? "I have no idea!" Kayla was shaken by the information. Lucas placed his hand on Kayla's shoulder, mitigating some of the pain she was showing. "Melanie, can you do it? Reverse it?" Hope finally rises in me and I want to hold onto it. I want my life as it was planned by the Moon Goddess. I want my fated mate, my family. "Unfortunately, it wasn't just a spell cast, besides, you ingested something that was absorbed by your body. The magic is in you. To remove it we will need an antidote." A sad smile accompanied Melanie's voice. Jacob approached her to comfort them. Mates? What a curious union. It seems I am not the only one surprised. Smith, Lucas´s Beta, was also astonished to look at them. "How can we get this antidote?" I asked without further ado, breaking the silence that was starting to settle in. "I don't know. This is black sorcery and I steered clear of that kind of magic some time ago. I would have to research and, after knowing the formula, come up with the ingredients." Melanie carefully explains. "Kayla, Lucas, you have to fight the mate bond. The more you are together, the stronger it will be, and the harder it will be for you to resist. If you succumb, the pain will only be worse later, when the situation is reversed." She advised them with a sad smile. "Fight how?" We need to know the details to draw up a plan that will help us. The more I know, the more I can help. "It's better not to have acts of affection. The best thing was not even being together! Every simple touch makes the connection intensify. I'll help with my fairy powers. I'll launch positive emotions that help you relax and not feel the connection in its full power. But if you could be apart, it would be better!" Melanie took Kayla's hand and tried to comfort her. Her body reverts to the violet dress and her hair returns to the original around both hands. So how about Lucas and I going to my dad's Pack, The Black Orchid Pack? We took advantage of it to collect more information about the Kingdom and ask my Pack`s help. So, you are not together either. We are buying time and proceeding with our plan. "Yes, it would be a good idea!" Melanie nodded, thinking to herself. "I need at least two days to prepare my pack for my absence." Lucas, who also seems to agree with the idea, responds. "I'll stay in the room until then." Kayla's decision makes Aric angry. He almost dominates Lucas. "No. You won't be locked up for two days. You're not a prisoner. Let's set times so we can be in different places." Lucas' idea cheers Melanie and Jacob, who give him a small smile that doesn't quite reach their eyes. They're probably feeling sorry for both Kayla and Lucas. Sometimes I feel like I'm an extra in this story, I feel a pain that consumes me, despair that doesn't disappear and that seems to be breaking me. At that moment, I could feel Melanie's hand on my face. Maybe she felt my emotions and sent some energy, as I feel it starting to radiate, relieving me. I'm grateful, very grateful to her for warming my soul a little. "Yes, we can manage your schedule and let her know," Smith responded, also trying to help. Kayla looks at him and smiles, murmuring thank you. "Jacob, you will help me with the research," Melanie says softly to her mate, who has his arm around her shoulders. "Looks like we have a plan!" Smith says, clapping Lucas on the shoulder and walking out of the house.
