Chapter 17 - Freedom.......I Think

After what seems like fiveever I finally got out of the hospital. Mike picked me up and brought me to my little apartment over the diner.
I was nervous about showing him my home.
I'm very proud of my little home.
He seems to like it. He says it's quaint.
I made us lunch, my world renowned PB&J.
As we sat there Mike's stares out of the window. His face went pale and he jumped up out of his chair.
"Pack a bag" he says.
"What? Why?" I ask
"Please just pack a bag. He found you." he choked out.
"Who found me?"
"Please, I will answer everything when we get on the road. We have to go get Chuck. Now."

As we tear down the road after having gotten Chuck I ask what's going on.
Chuck says "There is another immortal. He's dangerous. He is trying to unite all immortals in a bid to take over the world. Most immortals just want to live whatever life they have chosen for the time and be left alone. But some, like Klaus, think that since they are invincible they should run the world."
"You're kidding"
"No, I'm afraid I'm not"
"What does he want with us?"
"He really wants Chuck." Mike says. "Chuck is the consummate soldier. He's fought in almost every war or conflict there has been. He knows how to kill and how to lead. Klaus wants him to lead his assassins in his quest for world domination."
"Then why does he want us?"
"To control Chuck. If he can get us he can torture us. If he can torture us he thinks he can control Chuck."
"Well he can try. I can't die so torture away."
"Its not that simple." Chuck cuts in. "You can't die but you can feel pain. And you can be gotten rid of. He's eliminated other immortals by burying them in a metal coffin with a concrete vault you can't get out of. No one can hear your screams for all eternity. Or just straight up burying you in concrete and dropping you in the ocean. He's very creative."
"Gesus, he's a psychopath." I manage to choke out.
"Yes, that he is," Mike and Chuck say together.
