Chapter 10 - Mike

I lay on my bed.
Tears rolling down my face.
Silently crying.
How do I get out of here?
I have to see the doctor daily.
I go to his office.
He locks the door.
Then for about an hour he does whatever he wants to me.
I can't leave without him discharging me and it doesn't look like he's ready to give up his new playing just yet.
I'm stuck.
I'm stuck in this Hell.
I can't sleep because of the nightmares so they give me drugs to sleep.
The drugs make me a zombie in the morning so they give me more drugs to wake me up. It's a vicious never ending circle.
The only thing I have to keep what's left of my sanity is Chuck and Mike.
Chuck calls and visits when he can. We have to talk low or the nurses might hear us talking about being immortal and think we are both crazy.
Sometimes I wonder if this isn't a dream. I can't really be immortal. Can I?
Mike came and checked on me yesterday.
He is sweet.
I like him.
He has this soft voice that just makes me trust him.
His eyes are the color of the deepest blue sea.
Skin pale as the moon.
Hair a fiery, dark red.
He makes me feel safe.
Mike asked if what he overheard the security b***h was saying was true? I said it depends on your point of view. He said that she was going on about how I had it in for the poor doctor and she can't see how someone as wonderful as him could ever do anything I say he's doing.
I told him what I said was true.
The doctor is r****g me.
Repeatedly.
I told him I need to get out of here.
He said he'll try to help. He has to think of a plan that will work. I ask him what he thinks about being immortal. He said they're good things and bad. You don't have to worry about leaving anyone you love, but everyone you love will leave you.
That's the hardest part.
To watch everyone die and then you are alone to start over again.
Again and again.
I think about what he said.
Losing people over and over.
It sounds more like a curse.
I turn on my side and try to sleep.
The tears don't stop falling.
